Easy to use

I write lead sheets for piano. Once you get the hang of BlueNotation it is a quick way to write a score. Most useful, is the large print for the visually challenged. I just wish the chord symbols could be enlarged. The audio playback is brilliant for finding and correcting mistakes.

Freezes and impossible to use

A waist of time, just too many bugs, inputting rests? Where? Freezes where no input can be made, switching from one duration to another moves input back and can't go past that and input right duration. Just terrible

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. Rests are automatically entered, so you can focus on notes. The freeze is probably the "Test Play Mode". You can return to "Edit Mode" by tapping the pencil icon. Generally, notes can only be placed on the alignment of that note. In your case, you can input notes of the desired length by switching to shorter notes and ties multiple notes. Please tell me if you think there are other bugs, thank you.

Would be great but....

I bought this app to help jot down and quickly share musical ideas with friends and students. Creating the files and composing is wonderfully easy, but the format of the final result is useless. Printing is not functional and viewing what you have created shows you one measure per line, making it unreadable. I hope this gets fixed because this could be "the next great thing" for musicians! For now, it is a complete waste of money (for me).

Great musicians/songwriters tool.

Here we have an excellent musical scratchpad for setting down song ideas.

Bereft of ideas? Then this will help inspire you.

Simple, uncomplicated and intuitive - a well thought out app.

Not ready for Prime Time

Midi export is flawed. Does not export correct note timing. No support I guess they don't want to hear about any problems. You can not delete empty measures. Needs realtime note entry. This app could be good with some work. As it is it is pretty useless.
Is this just another take the money and run app. Maybe.....
