Private and works great!

Every self tracking app that uses your data for profiling is dystopian to me. Local VLMs have made a lot of progress and are right in the uncanny valley, but are still ethical from what I can tell. Especially this <2 GB model, trained for food tracking, is perfect for on device use.

Looking at an onion, it takes 1 minute to guess macro values and uses ~1gb of memory, which every iPhone should be able to handle.

The design is great! Some minor features don’t display correctly; the chat window doesn’t open and I would love a feature to add ingredient tables from a photo for the „manual“ entry option, but overall in Version 1.0 this app is basically feature complete.

Thank you so much!! So glad to hear you are enjoying Boba. Those are great suggestions and I've added them to the feature requests :)

Have potential

Good price for one time purchase of $5 but keeps crashing whenever I press anything to update my food log on IPhone 13, probably due to out of memory. Need better optimization

Response from developer

Hi thank you for your constructive review! Was the device an iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max or normal iPhone 13 / 13 Mini? The app should work for any devices from iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max and newer including baseline iPhone 14, as they all have 6GB or more RAM to run the model. iPhone 13/13 Mini only have 4GB, which may lead to crashes. Either way, we are working to improve our engine and optimise for more devices! :)
