This App is trash
Not sure where the developer got his/her bond math calculations, but this App is completely wrong. Simple concept: if you buy a bond at a discount (99) and sell it at par (100), the YTM is greater than the coupon. The converse is also true: buying at a premium (101) and selling at par (100) provides a YTM that is less than the coupon. Not sure how they got this wrong, but using those parameters in the App gets the wrong results. Also, the current yield on a bond isn’t cut in half because the bond pays semi-annually or reduced by 75% if the bond pays quarterly. I was going to write that this App is worthless, but it’s actually dangerous; anyone who uses this to invest in bonds will lose money!!!
