Excellent!
LOVE THIS APP
Best reading tracker app
Best off-line reading tracker
I have only two “complaints”, though they are not terribly frustrating. The first is that the calendar has every day start on the first day (visually Sunday), instead of following a normal Sunday through Saturday approach. The second is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to back up or import your data from the app. I would love to back this up in like a physical file in my files on my phone. But overall, very minor gripes for what is possibly my favorite app on my phone.
Really good and well designed app

Not that good
Response from developer
Hey! Thanks for the review. Book End is intended to be used as a reading timer. Sessions are run inside the app and when you’re done reading you log your progress / current page. The reading duration is used to calculate the statistics, speed and time remaining for each book. That being said, it you don’t wish to use the timer, you can manually log sessions within Book > Reading Sessions > +. I’m seeking to make this easier in future releases.
Interesting
Also, I’ve a large number of books in a spreadsheet - any chance we can have some sort of bulk import?
Response from developer
Hey, firstly thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Regarding audiobooks, unfortunately none of the free book databases that I can access, really has support for reliable audiobooks, eg, durations ect. My recommendation for now, should you want to keep using Book End, is to import them as normal books, and then “update” the progress using the % option. Additionally, regarding bulk import. The same free book databases that I have access too, have limits on the number of searches per day. Bulk import, would mean that very quickly Book End will run out of access to the database, if a number of people are importing larger libraries. It’s something that I want to explore in the future, but isn’t quote feasible for right now. I do have the ability to export however, should you want to change platforms for your reading tracking. If you want to reach out and discuss anymore, I’ve got a “Send Feedback” email, in the Book End in app settings.
Indespensable
Features
Suggestion: if there is a way to separate the library by books I’m currently reading versus books “to be read” or a wishlist for future book reads, that would be great.

Hey thanks for the review! In regards to your suggestion, in the library tab there should be a filter in the top right corner. It lets you filter via Currently reading, not started, in progress and a few other options! I’ll look at trying to revisit this experience when I get the chance to make it a bit more obvious
Amazing!
Excellent idea and app
With this elegant and easy to use app, I can keep track of all the books I want, which page etc..
Plus it helps me to maintain a good habit of reading every day.
Thanks so much for making this!
import
Response from developer
Hi there! Thanks so much for your review, One thing to keep in mind is while the app doesn’t work with any external software, when you add a new book, there should be an option to search the database online using Google Books. This allows you to easily import titles and start reading right away. Once you’ve started reading with a few sessions in the app, it then starts generating statistics for you, displayed on the Home tab. If you have any other feedback, I’d love to hear from you at help.bookend@gmail.com. Best regards, Ben
