They’ve Jumped the Shark
Been playing this game over 10 years, but the recent changes and additions have about driven me away. It’s become too gimmicky and too many major changes at a time. To me, the changes are getting ridiculous and the game is no longer fun to play. Many players on teams have dropped off for the same reasons. In the end, it’s all about the money. It was an enjoyable game to play before they went overboard on all the unnecessary additions. Like many long-time players, I dread seeing what the next update brings.

What is it seem like the text keeps shrinking with every update? The new interface for the trader is now not readable. Tribe bonuses I need a magnifying glass to read. Why is the text always shrinking?

Love this game. I play it more than any other games. I guess cause my dad was a sailer in a destroyer makes me want to play
What’s the point?
I have been playing this game for quite a few years now but it is a habit rather than enjoyable. I struggle to understand a lot elements of it. I win tokens but it won’t allow me to spend them. I upgrade things with apparently no impact on the game. I have competitors islands in my area ranked lower than me but with sites almost impossible to beat. Almost all of the bases in my archipelago are ranked higher than me and I can’t defeat them so I don’t bother trying. They keep introducing alternative games within the game to try and keep you interested when they should work on making the actual game more understandable and competitive. I am still trying to understand many elements of the game as they introduce new things without any information about what it is or how to use it. Realistically, save yourself the time and go to Clash of Clans which is excellent because this is really below average.

Too many extras
I have played this game for years and loved it. I wouldn’t miss a day playing it. But they have added so many extras over the years it has taken the fun out of it for me.
Insane opponent matching
The matching system is broken, always got 10+ higher level opponent with no way to take down, the bot base has little resources, no "shield" like clash of clans makes it ridiculous. Wasted a ton of gems to rush army to beat 15 bases for loot but then got robbed all of it by 2 consecutive attack in UNDER 5 minutes. What a waste of time.

Opponent pairing needs work
Alright. I downloaded the game and within the first bit of exploring, I find a “mercenary,” aka another player. Level 24. I’m level 4. I hop off the game and come back to my base having been raided by 2 people, one who destroyed me with just missiles, the other with a LOT more troops than I have and a much higher level.
However the game pairs you with people needs a LOT of work if it’s gonna pair me with people who I can’t beat for another 2 months, while suffering being drained of resources from people who can deploy everything they have and not even watch the battle and win. PvP is supposed to be challenging, not impossible. And don’t even think it’s a “skill issue,” when I have one defense available and it’s one sniper tower while they have multiple sniper towers, cannons, machine guns, and mortars. I have two boats that can only deploy a grand total of 12 riflemen.

Restarting progress
Recently redownloaded this game and wanted to start all over again, little did i know is be waiting almost a month to make a request to do so, and still have to wait a further 2 weeks (and counting) just to get on the game again. I’d have more luck hacking into the whitehouse.

Low key better than clash of clans if you would add more support, but unfortunately this game doesn’t bring as much revenue as coc

been playing for over 10 years. Used to be simple, direct and fun. Now it's way too complicated. I find myself just doing the season challenge

I’ve played for 15 years. Level 81. The warships events are a scam you can’t get past 19 without playing several hundred games. It’s made so you have to buy diamonds to continue.
Updated today but still no rewards from double commercials.
So frustrating and hugely problematic. Even the long awaited update didn’t fix the faults in the double commercial ad sets. We’re told to watch the ads but they constantly fail to complete the ads. Huge takeaway.

Fun; but…
I’ve played for several years and the game was straight forward and fun. Now, it’s about spending money on gimmicky team leaders, which tear through bases without corresponding opportunities to strengthen defenses. Why is this a problem? The strategic aspect of the game and how to setup a base has become irrelevant. Instead of strategically setting up troops to attack various base setups, just add 6 of the gimmicky team leads and let them do all the work. IMHO, what made this something I turned to daily is rapidly becoming a game I scroll by.

The game has become boring. The leaders and tech for defences has made it worse and overly complicated.There should be a revenge option. I have multiple accounts but have now stopped paying.
