Useless

This app is paid only and has 3 basic frequencies that you could certainly find on any free platform. This app does nothing but play an audio clip

Response from developer

Fair point on the surface, three audio tracks does sound minimal. The difference is in what's in those tracks, not how many there are. They're built with specific frequency filtering and layered audio techniques designed to mask low-end bass noise (the stuff that travels through walls), which most "white noise" apps aren't built to handle. That said, I want the app to actually earn its price for you. If you can tell me what kind of noise you're trying to block and what device you're playing it on, I'll take a real look at whether something's off on our end or if there's a better fit for your situation.

Wow…

Play low, mid, or high frequency noise. Period.
$7/month. Basically stealing money. This is an insult to all developers who actually spit blood to deliver quality products. Truly repulsive.

Response from developer

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry Boom Buster did not feel valuable to you. The app is designed to provide simple, layered low, mid, and high frequency noise options for people dealing with unwanted background noise, especially low-frequency sounds like bass, traffic, or neighbor noise. That said, we understand pricing and value need to feel fair. We’re continuing to improve the app, and feedback like this helps us see where we need to do better. If you’re open to it, please contact us through the app so we can better understand what you expected and how we can improve the experience.

Better than a white noise machine

With my windows open in the summer and apartment neighbors, this really does a great job at masking that noise. Really helps!

Response from developer

This is exactly the scenario BoomBuster was built for, open windows, apartment walls, bass that just won't stay on the other side of them. Really glad it's working for you. Enjoy the quiet (well, the good kind of noise).

Works Great!

Awesome bass blocker. Now I don’t have to move!

Response from developer

We are glad it worked for you!

A Perfect “Mute Button” For Loud Vehicles.

I was recently approached on a walk by a truck that I know has roaring muffler. With BoomBuster running on Sony WH-1000XM6 noise canceling headphones, it was absolutely silent. I’ve tested the headphones without BoomBuster running, and the truck can be clearly heard. BoomBuster makes an amazing difference; silence really is golden.

A roaring muffler going from clearly audible to silent is a great real-world stress test — and ANC headphones plus BoomBuster is a strong combo, since ANC handles steady-state noise while BoomBuster's low-frequency masking and binaural processing goes after the stuff that sneaks through. Really appreciate you sharing this one. Silence really is golden.

Just what I was looking for

I was going to buy a white noise machine, but now all I need to use is my Bluetooth speaker. I am very happy with it so far.

Response from developer

That's the whole pitch right there, no extra hardware needed, just a Bluetooth speaker you probably already own. Glad it saved you the purchase (and the counter space). Appreciate you giving it a shot.

Love this

A white noise app that drowns out bass. I love it. I don’t mind most music from cars or neighbors, but thump thump thumping when their bass is cranked up bothers me. This app is great at covering that up with a low ambient rumble that reminds me of being on an airplane. The only limit I’ve seen is if you’re playing this on cheap speakers that don’t have enough range to give the full effect.

Response from developer

You nailed the exact problem BoomBuster is built for — that thump-thump bass is precisely the frequency range it's tuned to mask, and the airplane-rumble comparison is a good one (similar low-end, similar effect). You're also right on the speaker callout: the bass response is what does the work, so cheap or small speakers just can't move enough air to deliver it fully. A decent stereo or subwoofer-equipped setup is where this really shines. Thanks for the sharp observation — and the review.

Simple and effective

I got a download for BoomBuster about 10 years ago when we had noisy neighbors playing loud thumping music day and night. I was ready to move. It gave me such relief to have this audio to counter the noise however they didn’t have the app at that time. This is a simple joy to use with SleepPhones at night in bed.

Ten years and "ready to move" to "simple joy at night" is a hell of an arc. SleepPhones plus BoomBuster is a smart pairing too, soft, flat speakers right against your head work well with the binaural side of how this is built. Really glad you stuck around long enough to get the app. Thanks for the loyalty.

Amazing for bass and stomping neighbors

I’ve been using these tracks for years to deal with a curse the universe put on me; i’m a light sleeper.

Response from developer

Years of use against a "universal curse" is the kind of review we don't take lightly, glad BoomBuster's been part of your truce with light sleeping. Thanks for sticking with us this long.
