The fact that I can’t make a screenshot of the view I need is ridiculous. You guys can charge us for the cloud services, for the AR and the advanced stuff, but if I can’t access the data on my phone the way I want/need to - are you serious??

Floor Plan sketches only one room
After I got around the clunky UI, I came to the realization that this app will only provide a sketch for only one room. Geneally when using floor plan app, you would expect to be able to create and connect multiple rooms within a single floor plan. They would have destroyed the floor plan creation apps if they had this feature

will never buy another bosch laser will never use their products. used to be a big supporter and very pro-bosch. the cost of the laser , then the OUTRAGEOUS monthly fee to use the most basic features of the app is quite ludicrous. SAVE your money, switch to another brand & keep your sanity. minimal customer service, if any. ive had ~6 lasers over last 10yrs--the last one is the LAST ONE i will buy. adios bosch!

Great Hardware Ruined By App Restrictions
I recently bought a Bosch GLM165-27CG laser measure (currently around $149–$169 USD depending on retailer) specifically because the Bluetooth + MeasureOn integration looked genuinely useful.
The hardware itself is excellent. Accurate, rugged, bright green laser, and clearly built well.
What completely soured the experience was discovering that the app intentionally blocks exporting even a single measurement photo unless you pay for Bosch MeasureOn PRO. Instead of exporting my marked-up image, the app outputs a grey placeholder screen filled with ruler icons.
I was literally about to send an example measurement image to my dad because I thought the system was clever enough that he’d buy one too. Instead, I had to explain that Bosch locks basic image exporting behind a subscription after you already bought the hardware.
That directly lost Bosch a sale.
I’m not asking for cloud collaboration, enterprise tools, or team management features. I just wanted to share a measurement image from a laser measure I already paid for.
The sad part is the device itself is genuinely good. The app’s artificial restrictions are what turn a “recommend to friends and family” product into a “warn people before buying” product.
If customers are contemplating photographing their phone screens with a second phone to avoid export restrictions something has gone very wrong with the product strategy.

Blocks screenshots
This app is trash given how much the laser measure is. It blocks core features like taking a screenshot to easily share measurements with, for example, your wife. Honestly Bosch, do better.

The app had some promise with AR scans but flat on its face when none of the angles can be modified.
There is an icon for adding windows and doors that does not function.
The only support offered is an AI bot the goes around in circles providing no answers.
As a free app it would be too expensive.
Unless you’re trying to create perfect squares or rectangles, I’d say save your money and patience for something more worthwhile.

15$ a month to name measurements!
I just spent up to a couple hundred dollars on this tool and now these jokers want me to spend $15 a month on their stupid app so that I can name my measurements?!? I can’t even assign a name to a stored measurement in an app without paying $180 per year?
Bosch is a joke, this app is useless, my camera or notes app is 10 times more useful for this specific feature set. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put the most basic functions of an app for such an expensive tool behind an additional paywall should be fired!

Купил лазерный дальномер за 140 баксов, но не могу ею полноценно пользоваться, потому что надо еще платить за подписку 15 баксов в месяц, чтобы иметь все возможности приложения. Невозможно изменить размер шрифта на измерениях и если надписи размеров накладываются друг на друга, то ничего не поделаешь, приходится фотографировать еще раз.

Game changer!
This app and laser (GLM400C) are a game changer! I draw floor plans for foundation repair every day. Between the AR function and the Bluetooth connectivity to the laser, this combo increases my productivity by about 1000%! I love that I can export a pdf file with dimensions! I can’t wait to see how they continue to improve this app.

Buggy and does not work
Listen here’s the thing these lasers are $200. They advertise an app it used to not be a sub subscription but I get it. Everybody wants you to subscribe to everything.
That would be perfectly fine if the app actually worked and didn’t crash every single time you use an AR feature
You have some of the strongest devices on the market with the most processing power available and you cannot get a AR view of a kitchen without completely crashing
It’s wild that we have apps that are playing 2 GB worth of video files running countless computations in the background but a company that has a measuring device. Can’t seem to get linear footage in an AR setting without completely crashing. I have attempted to measure the same downstairs that is less than 800 ft.² six times on an iPhone 18 Pro Max 2 TB

Mandatory Subscription
Great app until they enforced the screenshot sharing to sell their subscription. Honestly wish I could return this measuring thing and find an alternative.
Pro plan is frustrating
The pro plan is wildly expensive at $15/mo. I get locking away big expensive features (I guess), but not being able to NAME A MEASUREMENT is just wrong. It’s such a simple and important feature, really shady move.

Frequent data loss, with entire annotated images missing from workspace. We have to embarrass ourselves by revisiting client to recapture measurements. Bosch has run this app and it’s reputation into the ground with Measureon.

Update: Dev claims they only charge for the software to export data (because it’s so much better to charge a subscription just to use the hardware that I own with software that I license) but I still get popups begging for money every time I try basic features.
Just double checked and now have a screenshot showing the rename button locked behind a pro logo. Would upload but App Store doesn’t do photos. So their devs are misinformed or lying about it.

Poor performance
App fails constantly. The original Measure On app, Gen 1,worked extremely well. Bosch discontinued Gen1 so they could could soak you for $15/ mo for doing the same thing as Gen 1. Save you money

Previous app versions allowed for basic functions like exporting to PDF’s without having to upgrade to a pro account. Seems like everyone wants to nickel and dime us for basic functions. When purchasing $150 laser measurer (GLM165-27CG), you would think a fully functional app would come with it. The app for my previous laser (GLM50C x3398) had pdf export as a basic function.
The user interface was also better in previous versions. I think the export to dwg might be a decent tool but @ $13 a month, I’ll pass!

They block screenshots
To be the ultimate professional product blocks a screenshot. I just needed to add a note on a measurement I took. Not allowed. You’ve to pay us 🤦♂️ or upgrade to Pro monthly to be allowed to take screenshots. How pathetic.
