An absolute belter of a game. Suddenly I’m 18 years old again and playing Championship Manager on my Amiga, but this is on my iPad. It’s absolutely perfect. Thank you.

Finally, you’re a godsend!

Great to have a developer that doesn’t ruin the game with adverts! Not only that, but is constantly developing the game to make it better.
Would be great to be able to see more classic stats, like shooting, technique, aggression, strength, intelligence.
Being able to draw running arrows on tactics and select set pieces takers.
And more seasons which I think you’re planning on adding since you’ve recently added English 95/96. Would love to see more Italian and Spanish seasons.
The game is brilliant old school fun!

Retro gaming at its best

An absolutely brilliant retro recreation of a classic. Please can you add 94/95 update and include Italian and Spanish leagues please? Thank you for bringing this back on iOS.

Amazing game been playing for weeks now, wish you could turn back on future stars after turning off. Would be good if we could have 5 subs instead of 3. Are you looking to put newer English league in the future

Thanks a lot for the review! I see no reason to allow future stars to be turned on again: I’ll see if I can add that for the next version. Next version will have England 95/96 and most recent leagues will allow 5 subs! It’s just that historically, the older leagues only allowed 2. Again, thanks so much!

Blast from the past

This takes me back where as kids meeting up and playing this game for hours and and weekend or too ! The only thing the later Football Manager had more options and the foreign teams had the players names but apart from that, this just how I remember it well done.

Nostalgic Perfection

As someone who religiously and addictively played Championship Manager from 1993 onwards, I cannot stress how much enjoyment this has given me over the last few weeks since downloading. I’m currently in my 102nd season with Tottenham, and although the initial buzz of “real” players and future stars has vacated, I’m still delighted when I unearth a gem who goes on to score 9-10 ratings throughout the entire season, when a striker bags 60+ goals for 11 consecutive years or when I manage to go a full season without defeat in all competitions. Easily my favourite game right now,
Just like it was when I was growing up with my Amiga and PC versions. 5/5

Great retro game

This is one of the best football management simulators around and would especially appeal to fans of Championship Manager 93/94. It’s challenging and very addictive, especially if you manage a lower league team.

My first champo back in the day and this is nostalgia in an app!! BUT with all the extras you could dream of! Feels just like the original, and then some. Love the constant updates and new leagues. Plus being able to sign players like gazza!!! The real life players appearing in the season they appeared in real life is an amazing addition..THANK YOU!

Very good but not without flaws

As many others have said, stays true to the spirit of the original game, and is very enjoyable in that sense. The game does have its glitches though, and still feels like a work in progress. Although in fairness, that also mirrors any release of Football Manager in the last 20 years.
Other absurdities exist which are somewhat more annoying, in particular around club budgets; I’m yet to fathom why, if managing Liverpool, I can barely afford any transfer, and am routinely outbid for players by Everton, Sheffield Wednesday, Tranmere, and even Barnsley.
The end of season winnings at the end of a successful season also seem quite detached from reality irrespective of who you’re managing (£1m for winning the PL?!). And I’m supposed to believe I can only attract enough fans to fill the stadium of a Premier League club to around 65% capacity. Ok.
Still plenty of work to do I think, but it’s very promising…

This is indeed a work in progress as the game was just release a couple of weeks ago, still a lot to do. - On budgets, game is very rewarding financially if you are able to buy talent cheap and then develop it. Otherwise you might have problems renewing your old players. This is 1993, where team budgets and prizes were really low comparing to what is today! However, we do have a setting called Classic Mode that puts things a little bit more close, in terms of AI teams bidding requests, making it easier to sign players (AI clubs don't ask that much). It's under settings, Classic Mode. - I'll definitely check that 65% fill capacity on Anfield. Seems odd indeed. Again, thanks a lot for your review and doubts!

Amazing Game Full of Nostalgia

What an amazing game. Takes me back to the days of the original but it fixes all the bugs and annoyances of back then. You can actually sign foreign players!!!! Dev keeps updating and is adding in real world players to appear in the years they would in real life. Seriously, how is this free.

Anyone of a certain vintage will be taken back to a simpler time and this game is a brilliant time killer that also doesn’t drain battery.

Can’t wait to see what new updates bring
