About

BotaniSense helps you grow, care for and explore plants—and its on-device AI organizes the plant photos already on your phone. AI running on your phone goes through your camera roll, picks out the plant photos and groups similar-looking ones, without uploading your library. Identify plants, check their health, find the right spot in your garden, keep a care diary and share with other plant lovers. When you want a plant identified or a problem diagnosed, only the photos you choose are sent to our cloud AI. For houseplants, succulents, flowers, trees, vegetables, herbs, fruit, wild plants and mushrooms. Free to use, no ads. Your plant photos, organized BotaniSense scans your camera roll on your phone and picks out the plant photos, setting aside screenshots, selfies and everything else. You don’t have to sort, label or build albums yourself. - Browse by place: photos are grouped by where you took them and shown on a map with place names, so you can find a garden, park, hike or trip without scrolling through months of photos. - Similar plants together: photos of similar-looking plants are grouped, so pictures of the same plant taken on different days end up side by side. Open any photo to see the most similar ones in your library—useful for following a plant’s growth. Plant identification Select one photo or many and our cloud AI identifies the plants in them, including several plants in one photo. You get scientific and common names in your language, saved with each photo. Plant Doctor Photograph a sick plant to check for likely causes—fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, rust or leaf spot, root rot, pests or nutrient deficiency—and get steps for what to do next. Ask follow-up questions about what you see. For general guidance, not professional advice. Sun and shade map See how many hours of sun a spot in your yard, garden or balcony gets in each month, based on 3D maps of nearby buildings and terrain. Use it to decide where to plant vegetables, herbs and flowers that need full sun or shade. Plant diary Record repotting, new growth, flowers and harvests with photos and notes, and look back on a timeline at how each plant has changed. Care guides Light, water and soil needs for the plants you have, in your language. Community and sharing Post plant photos, ask other gardeners for help, and see what people grow around the world. Share photos with friends in any app, straight from your gallery. Species search Look up plants by common or scientific name and save them to your collection. Privacy and sync Your photo library is scanned on your phone. A photo is uploaded only when you use it for identification, Plant Doctor, your diary or a post. Sign in with a free account to keep those photos and your diary on all your devices.

What's New in BotaniSense

2.6.1

October 30, 2026

• Uploading and identifying photos are now two separate steps, so you can tell a slow connection from a slow analysis. • A bar above the tab bar shows how many photos are uploading and how many are being identified — tap it for the full queue, each photo's status, and retry. • Uploads interrupted when the app closed pick up again the next time you open it. • Long-press to select several photos works again, and the selection bar stays put while you scroll. • Faster, more reliable plant identification.
