About

You copy an address, you copy something else a minute later, and the address is gone. Or you type the same reply for the fortieth time because it lives nowhere in particular. bothy. is where those things go instead, and the place you get them back is the keyboard you are already typing on. Tap the plus, type it or paste it, and it becomes a square tile in one grid. There is no folder to pick and no name to type before a thing is allowed in. Save it and bothy. works out whether it is a line of text or a link. The chips along the top are lenses over that one grid rather than folders you file into, and the handful you reach for every day can be pinned to the front. Getting a thing back out is the part I care about most, because that is where the time actually goes. Switch the bothy. keyboard on in Settings and use it the way you use any other keyboard. Type three letters of something you saved and it shows up in the strip above the keys. Tap it and the words go into the field, with the letters you already typed taken back out for you. You never leave the app you are in and you never go looking. The mark at the left of that strip lifts the rest of your things over the keys, and the keyboard does not change height while it is open. There is a search up there too. Start typing and it narrows as you go, and what you type into that search never reaches the field you are writing in. The keyboard works completely without Full Access, and the switch starts off. Turning it on adds key sounds and vibration and nothing else. Either way it reads only what the app has handed it and has no code that opens a connection, so there is nowhere for anything you type to go. In a password field, a one-time-code field or a card number field it goes quiet by itself and offers nothing at all. Some things are not for a keyboard. Turn on Keep this one hidden as you save, and that thing never reaches the keyboard or Spotlight, and its tile shows a plain label instead of the thing itself. Your saved things are in Spotlight as well, so a pull-down from the Home Screen finds one, and choosing it puts it on your clipboard. There is a Shortcuts action called Copy Item that does the same, and Siri can run it. Nothing you save goes away by itself. There is no timer and no quiet clear-out. It sits there until you delete it. The app is free and there is nothing to buy inside it. No accounts. No servers of mine. There is no sign-up, I run no server, and there is nowhere of mine for your things to go. Your iPhone's own backup does include this app, the way it includes your other apps, and that copy sits in your own iCloud under a setting you control. The privacy policy says plainly who ends up holding what. I am one person, this is the app I wanted for myself, and I read my own mail.
