Sorry the manual steps felt tedious. The app isn't a radar gun, so getting an accurate speed needs those precise inputs - marking the exact release and impact frames, and setting the true distance - that's what makes the calculation reliable. We get it's a bit of work.

That's a big difference to see. The app's speed comes from your inputs: a high frame rate video (in-app recording is best for 240 fps) and the exact distance of the throw. Check those two, as they're usually what causes a big variance.

That's genuinely frustrating. The freezing you hit after recording and marking frames, right when it should show your speed, was a real bug on our side. We've fixed that in the latest version - updating the app should sort it out for you now.
