Addictive near perfection
Excellent graphics, fun gameplay, every bit as addictive as Tetris. The only request I would have would be to have separate high-score modes for Easy/Norm/Hard/Relaxed modes. I shouldn't have to try to beat my Relaxed high score in Hard mode. Otherwise, I find myself playing the SNOT out of this game. Excellently done.
Update: Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! Definitely glad to see this game get updated graphics. Good update. Wish Paul would put back the little numbers when the blocks clear just to get a sense of the points I'm scoring (minor nit). Still wishing the high scores would designate which mode you were in (hard, easy, relaxed,etc) so I can see how I did in the various modes. Great mechanics. This and DropZap2 can get me through any line at the DMV. Well done.

One of the coolest Amiga/PC/Mac puzzlers makes it to the iPhone!
UPDATE: Stoked to see my favorite of the Shoecake games get revisited!
Paul Burkey took Tetris' basic "line clearing" gameplay mechnic and spun it on it's head! Pieces aren't falling from the top but going into boxes below so you can decide which piece to place first. It is no longer about just making horizonatal lines as you can make vertical lines across the game play area as well. Coolest yet, IMHO, is that the pieces get nastier and nastier in later levels (right when free space is at a premium you'll start seein more 5+ block pieces). I even love how if you group enough same colored pieces in a clump they become gem pieces worth big points when cleared! My only whine is that I hope in updates Paul will put back in the bonus for clearing a line all of one color like he had in the computer versions.

Fun puzzler
This is a very fun puzzler with simple rules that still give a deep game that you find you improve at with practice - never just random. Add to that top notch graphics and production values and you get one of the best puzzlers on the iPhone.

Please add an option to turn off the spinning of the pieces at the bottom of the screen. The backgrounds sometimes blend too much with the piece colors, but at least they don't move.

Way too addictive!
Generally I like the word games but wanted something like tetris without the stress! I have many, many games on my phone but this one is the only one that I play multiple times a day! I love the graphics and that you can play relaxed mode too. It is so simple and brilliant! Thanxs!
Play this game all the time
This is a well done puzzle game. Quick pick up. Easy to suspend and pick up later. It is so good, I hope the developers will add some features and make it better. I play it almost daily.

I love tetris but I love this game more..it is so easy to play so much fun and so addictive! I got it when it was free but it is definetly worth than a buck!!!
A visual disaster
The game itself is fun and I really enjoy the strategy involved. Unfortunately, the backgrounds prevent me from playing.
The changing backgrounds is a major problem. I love the fact that the background will change, but the choice in patterns is horrible. Some backgrounds blend too much with the pieces themselves and it's rare that I see a pattern that actually looks aesthetically pleasing. Most are just too overdone combined with all the other patterns on the screen.

Nice!
Very nice game with some nice new twists not in the original pc version. If it weren't for getting sore eyes from all the bright colors and distracting, wild patterns I would use this game alot. Maybe the developer will eventually do an upgrade with "tamer" colors and pattern options for those of us with sensitive eyes?
Even though I won't be able to play it much I am still giving the game a solid four stars because he did do a fine job with it, especially for teens and young adults, and for the folks with less visual sensitivity than older folks like me.
Good job, Paul! Boxikon has long been one of my favorite games.

One of the best games on the app store
5 months after I got it, and I still play it all the time.
