I played two of the simplest puzzles in my life that took maybe 3 seconds tops to solve and got bombarded with 3 ads for only playing two puzzles. Horrible.

Pay per click fraud
This just pay for click fraud disguised as a game. You have to open the ads store page 3 times before you can leave. Advertiser pays a premium every time the store page is opened.
