Braw Tuner is a braw app!!!
Quite honestly the best bagpipe tuner app on the market. I have used most, if not all the available bagpipe tuning apps at one time or another and I rate none than the Braw tuner for versatility and ease of use. It is accurate and simple. The only tuner that allows you to tune your drones simultaneously while sounding the chanter without requiring a microphone. Simply Braw!

New and Improved!
I’ve been using the Braw app for several years and this new version is spectacular! Now tuning the chanter and especially the drones is so much quicker and easier! Very accurate readings, less guess work! Well done Braw!!!!
Embracing the Tech
I’m supprised there is very little feedback on this app. As a newbie to pipping the app has been invaluable to help train my ear to what good tuning sounds like. I also use it to help tune in the drones for the band. It easy to use and a valuable addition to any piper, especially those on the learning curve.

Chanter Tuning
This is a fantastic tool to balance the notes on your chanter and get “a number” for tuning others. The notes are compared to low A and are shown as flat-sharp in comparison. With this information you can make the adjustments in the usual ways.

Having issues to tune the drones
When I first installed the app everything worked very well. I’m using a special bagpipe microphone for the iPhone. But a couple of weeks ago it changed. Since then it is impossible to tune the drones (chanter is still working well). It simply doesn’t recognise the dronesound even when I tap the drones button of the app. It doesn’t make a difference if I am using the microphone or not. Please fix that bug.

Braw tuner
Our band has been using the premium app for a year now. We are quite happy with it compared to other we have used! To have a piper play up the scale and then stop, and then be able to see the recorded notes is a big plus!
Waste of $30
I actually paid $30 for this garbage. It is impossible to get it to work correctly to actually tune your chanter. Stick with the FREE bagpiper tuner App. Much easier to use.
don’t waste your time
$30?? only a fool would spend $30 just to see if the app was any good. I guess this is more of a sucker finder than a bagpipe tuner

Hi - you are able to use out all the main features of the app for free, and only buy the upgrade if you are happy with it, and think it is worth it.
Can’t get premium to work
I purchased the premium upgrade and have never got it to work properly...I am so frustrated. I have contacted the site...no one has returned my messages. Wish I could use the app.

Braw Bagpipe Tuner app great value
Having used the Braw tuner app regularly for the past couple of months, I feel able to give an objective review. Overall, it is an excellent tuner app and very intuitive to use. I particularly like getting the measured frequency as well as offset in cents for the drones as well as the chanter, features that were not available on the previous tuner app that I purchased. I have used it on both my iPhone and iPad at the same time and get fairly consistent results, except for an occasional big variation in the tenor drone measurement, which I think is more likely to be an issue with the measurement than my tenor drones, as the bass drone measurements are very consistent and steady.

Read the Description carefully about free and “fully functional with in app purchase”. There is no real deception here in the description if you read the description. It states “Free” and fully functional with in app purchased. So basically the free is a trail version and will be fully functional once you give up $30. In the free version, when you look at the notes half of them are “X” out and don’t appear to be functional. It might be good for the $30, I’m not taking the chance and paying $30 for this app.

Functionality at a price
Seems to be quite advanced with an averaged readout of tuning, however, to do something as basic as set reference A to 440, it asks for a $30 upgrade fee. Back to normal tuners for me, I think.
Braw Bagpipe Tuner
Looks very helpful & the price is right. Unfortunately I can't get it work. The Calibration step appears to freeze: the count down doesn't start & there is no recourse but to abandon the app. Also; there is no option for support or bug reporting (except this review). Can't go lower than one star. 😜
Update: Discovered that my Restrictions setting prevents the app from asking to use the microphone (too bad even the message is blocked 😜). Now that obstacle is gone the Calibration seems to work. Hint: Add a note on this to the Help info.

Great App
Having downloaded the app and tested it today I'm super impressed. It will make tuning band chanters much easier. I will be recommending it to everyone in the band.
Defiantly worth £28.99
Decent app very sensitive. I have a few guys in the band with inconsistent blowing, the great thing about this is it takes there average sound allowing you to bring them as close as possible to the sound wanted. I would definitely recommend for young developing bands.
