What's New in Breakthrough Alarm

0.2.67

September 20, 2026

Choose exactly when your alarm sounds again with Snooze Until. New - Pick a specific future date and time for any due or already-snoozed alarm, directly from the Alarms screen. - Use Snooze Until to adjust an existing snooze without waiting for the alarm to ring again. Improved - Snoozes that continue into another day now show the date as well as the time, so you can see when the alarm is set to return. - One-time snooze changes leave your saved snooze duration, repeating schedule, and original calendar event unchanged.

Getting better

As I mentioned in the first version of my review, I got this app mostly because it lets me snooze alarms by using the volume and power button buttons which seems to not be a common feature of other alarms. The developer responded to my critique and made it possible to create repeating alarms and delete history items. I do like the history feature. Unfortunately for me in particular, the reason I am looking for a alarm app to replace iPhones native alarm is because iPhones native alarm will not show you the name of the alarm that you have snoozed. Unfortunately, while this does show me the name of the snoozed alarm, it will only show one snoozed alarm at a time. So if there are two or even three snoozed alarms you cannot see the name of each of them on the home screen. If all snoozed alarms showed on the home screen, I could probably switch from iPhones native alarm to this app. I don’t know if Apple allows that, though. It is good that when you look at the list of alarms you see them in order of nearest upcoming alarm. That is a step above iOS. A problem with the repeating alarm setting is that it does not allow you to select days of the week. So if I want an alarm to repeat on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, I have to create three different alarms. There seems to be only three different alarm sounds that I can choose, which is pretty limited. I wonder if the developer can’t make available all the system sounds that are a standard part of iPhone. Also when I change the sound, it should play so I know immediately what it sounds like. Or maybe add a test button.

Response from developer

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, especially about phone-button snoozing. We addressed every item you raised: alarms can now repeat daily, on weekdays or weekends, weekly, monthly, or yearly; History entries can be deleted individually or cleared entirely; alarms can be created through Siri and Shortcuts; and alarms can be marked done from the Home Screen widget. Your review gave us a clear roadmap and helped make Breakthrough Alarm substantially better.

Promising start but needs a lot of work

Installed specifically because it supports snooze through phone buttons, which may be rare. The most critical missing feature is that you can’t create a repeating alarm. That knocks off two stars right there. Also having no way to clear the history is a significant issue. History feature is great, but need a way to clear one item or all. Would be great if possible, but I can imagine it might not be, if a task can be marked done on the home screen without needing to login. Also super helpful would be integration with iOS shortcut so a shortcut can be used to create an alarm. Specifically I want to create an alarm using my voice to trigger the shortcut. Direct integration with Siri would the amazing and also make shortcut integration less critical, but I can imagine that might be more difficult and maybe not even be possible.
