Very disappointing
This app doesn’t give you any benefits bc it doesn’t work. I constantly get emails about new posts but when I click on the emails I can see a thing. I’ve downloaded the app on a iPhone and Samsung phone. It’s definitely the app, what’s worse I can’t even get into the email setting to disable the annoying messages that lead me the new posts that never load or just time out. Please do better, from prior reviews it seemed to be a great asset for prior patients. And I’d like the same opportunity

Not workable
I have been very very very frustrated this app does not work if you make a comment you cannot find it why don’t they have a search button to find your freaking comment!!!
They send you a notification in your email that someone has viewed your post or commented on your post and when you try to go to it it doesn’t go very frustrating very very frustrating I think it’s giving me cancer

As an oncology nurse navigator specializing in breast cancer, I can attest to the importance of shared decision making. Many patients are either unaware or not informed of all treatment and surgical options. This can create the feeling of being overwhelmed and having unnecessary pressure to make a decision without knowing the facts. That being said, this proves there was a definite need to organize all of the resources and information and that’s what the breast advocate app does.
The breast advocate app is a wonderful tool for patients, navigators and treating physicians. Treatment options are personalized and reviewed through a quick and easy questionnaire. Patients are also able to connect with others at various stages of treatment and survivorship, creating a virtual support group at your fingertips.
The resources available are informative, concise and fact based. I’ve referred several patients to the app and have used the app myself to obtain more information about a unique patient diagnosis.
I highly recommend all breast cancer patients, navigators and treating physicians download and use this app!

Love the philosophy
I was diagnosed with DCIS in October 2018. I was blessed with amazing doctors who firmly believe in the concept of shared decision making. From the beginning the treatment decisions were my choice. I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy with DIEP flap reconstruction January 2019. My road to healing is not done and the journey wasn’t easy but nothing about breast cancer is easy. Knowing that I was given the tools by my doctors to advocate for myself and make my own treatment decisions made the difficult days in my journey much easier.

This is a new and life changing app for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. Getting a cancer diagnosis can be scary, overwhelming and confusing all at the same time and this app puts great info right at your fingertips. I truly believe that knowledge can be empowering with all the decisions that have to be made after a diagnosis this can take away fear. Share this app with everyone you know because it can make a difference!! I’m a breast cancer survivor and I wish this was around when I was diagnosed. I’d give this 10 stars if I could!!

It delivers high quality information by leading breast cancer experts at your fingertips, whether you’re searching for genetic counselors or you’re a previvor or survivor looking for guidance with surveillance, risk reducing or therapeutic mastectomies. Recent research studies have revealed 8:10 men and women at risk do not even know they carry a faulty genetic mutation. This is simply unacceptable. Family history alone has failed too many. In fact men make up 50% of all carriers. Gender equality needs to be recognized for those affected by male breast cancer. I strongly recommend the Breast Advocate app for people with genetic predispositions, this includes BRCA, PALB2, RAD51C, CHEK2 & ATM genes. All of these genes carry a risk for breast cancer, some of which are known only for women thus far. What was missing from my journey
The Breast Advocate app is exactly what I wish I’d had when I was going through my journey. Scouring the Internet was time consuming, lead to false hope at times, and was hard to find validated medical information. I wish I had one place to go where I knew I’d get clear cut, medically backed up information. This app is it. It has everything you’ll need to help make decisions about your journey and arm you with questions for your doctor consultations. Thank you for this!
