Love this app
The Brewguide/Pearl S Setup has really helped me dial in my pour over game. I’ve noticed immediate improvements in my ability to consistently make a fantastic cup of coffee!
Sketchy but ok
Needs some basic improvements, and needs a community integration so we can see/share recipes within the app and give them ratings or basic stats like how many brews have been done with what recipe.
If you have a problem with it connecting you have to toggle your Bluetooth on and off. All apps by these folks are bad, so this is just how it is. It never gets updates.

Great app and great fun!
This app is great for finding new recipes and uploading your own recipes to your scale! It’s also a great tool for learning how to use your Pearl model S. The tutorial videos are awesome!
Crashes
Brewguide is THE reason I got this scale. I built out my brew and saved it. Crash. Tried to edit the saved brew. Crash. Want to delete it. Crash. Help?
Well, at least I know why it crashes. The app allows editing some fields like Brewer, that are also offered as an enumeration (where you pick one). If you edit the fields, the app crashes when you try to load the recipe.
This is bad, but the recipes cannot be deleted, which is worse.

Is this ever getting new recipes?
The functionality of the brew guide on the device is nil if I can’t change it to better suit my coffees. Are there other recipes coming or maybe general regional brew recommendations? Just seems silly to have wasted the money for functions that are essentially useless.
Beyond Buggy
You can set customizations all day long, but there’s no way to apply them to the scale.
Disconnects too often
I like the idea of this but it hasn’t been updated with other brewing methods it’s seems like in quite a while. It disconnects often even when right next to my scale.
IPad version plwase
Love the scale you need to add an IPad version and maybe combine all the apps into one
Convenient and simple
Super convenient for getting brews down and under your hands. Prefer the level three guides.
Perfect companion for my Pearl S
There are some recipes to get started, but I like the option to create my own, and just duplicate one of the recommended, do my changes, and save it as my own.

Profile view only
Some app developers think everyone uses their smartphone for everything. This app is thus designed for such and is profile view only, no landscape more suitable for iPads and PC’s. Sorry, diddling on a little screen is not my idea of fun or life.
No ratio
The app look good but they are no way to see what is the coffee to water ratio in recipe

Works but could be better
First of all, please combine all your apps. I don’t want 5 separate apps. Second, it needs to be easier to find recipes. There’s no apparent way to just browse everything that’s available. You have to know exactly what to search for. Also get more guides on there. Maybe reach out to brewers for recipes.

Combine apps
For a scale that small I need 3 apps to use it, one is for brewing guide other for a remote use and another to update the scale there is no need for all those it should all be combined under one single app for all models once you register your product will give access to that specific model
A great tool
It’s so nice learning how to brew and set a recipe for a friend/partner that they can follow.
Good idea but not intuitive & low participation
I bought the Pearl S to make the most of Brewguides but have found it disappointing. I have not found a speciality coffee roaster that uses it in the UK. The only guides available are the standard Acaia guides. With greater roaster participation it would come into its own. Making your own brewguides is not intuitive and is slow. The transfer process is also slower than you would expect and the way the scale displays the guide is a bit confusing, sometimes requiring interaction, sometimes not to move between steps, I’m sure this can be changed but it is not clear. I have reverted to using the scales in timer / weight / flow rate mode which works best for me.

Buggy and broken
I have an iPhone XS which can’t connect to the scale. My new iPad Pro works fine. Neither app can search for Brewguides . Only the default 3 show up, none of which I can use as they are all for the Kalita wave.
