Brickbeam

Live scan is here. Point the camera at your pieces and brickbeam frames each one on screen as you move; tap a box and it tells you whether your set still needs that piece. The framing runs entirely on your phone, so it costs nothing — only the piece you tap to ask about is counted. Faster and lighter. The on-device recognition model is half the size and about twice as fast, and the app uses noticeably less memory on older phones. Scanning the same piece again answers instantly without spending a scan. Better recognition. Boxes now sit exactly on the pieces in sideways photos and pictures chosen from the gallery, pieces are found on coloured surfaces such as a red play mat, and colour reading has been corrected under warm indoor light so shades of grey no longer get confused. Fixes. Marking pieces found no longer counts the same ones twice, and touching the photo on the results screen no longer deletes your scan results. Projects that failed to start for some sets now open, and starting the same set twice no longer creates a duplicate. When two devices are used, their progress is merged instead of one overwriting the other. Pieces with printed and plain variants, such as heads and decorated tiles, are credited to the right line, translucent pieces are no longer reported as the wrong colour, and the weekly scan counter stays correct even if the app is closed. New option. The About screen can now keep photos of unrecognised pieces on your phone only, to improve recognition in future versions. It is off by default and nothing is uploaded.
