App is unstable
The app needs a lot of work to address stability issues. Please provide an update to view in landscape mode.
Works Great
Not easy GUi but go by the instructions and they work a treat. Charge before each use. Update is fiddly, make sure you use correct cables. Don’t expect plug and play.
Brilliant Headphones - Awful App
As most other reviewers have commented … the headphones are great, but the app is shockingly poor and fundamentally just doesn’t work reliably. I’ve spent almost two hours trying to get my headphones paired with my iPhone. I’ve repeatedly deleted and re-loaded the app, forgotten the headphones device more times than I can count, switched devices on and off etc, checked Location services are active etc, etc. Bottom line is they won’t pair. I’m also having problems logging in to the different Roland / Boss sites to sign up fully. Seriously Roland … sort yourselves out - this is not good enough. PS I’ve got a room full of your kit at home - TD drum kit, synth, amps, pedal boards, recording equipment etc. I won’t be buying anything more if this is the best you can do.

Competitors are better and cheaper. Software is awful.
Title says it all. The product is/was good…when it was the only one on the market. But, newer products are better and cheaper. Additionally, the software that runs the product is awful. It’s buggy, and unreliable. The firmware is impossible to update. This is one of the most frustrating products I’ve ever owned.

Does not work on 9th gen IPad.
Have tried everything possible including everything contained in the manuals. Works on my IPhone and newer IPad Air, but not so much on 9th gen.

Can’t even connect this to my iPhone 15. App feels abandoned and without it the product is half complete at best.
The headphones are being returned
Headphones won’t pair with the app reliably. This makes the app useless, and therefore, the headphones useless.
Pairing instructions are convoluted, unlike any other Bluetooth devices that I own. There are various instruction manual solutions for when this happens, but they don’t work.
I’ve wasted hours messing around with this terrible software. I thought this would buy me playing time. Quite the reverse.

App needs to be updated
App no longer works with the new apple update
Needs additional features
The tones are great out of the box, but the gyro capabilities are a solid 1/10 I find that I constantly want to turn them off, and even if I keep my head still that the gyro still decides to randomly turn around, even with repeated“calibration”. There needs to be a setting (not tone specific) to disable the gyro feature. Please update the application to do this.

Need iPad Version
When will Boss release a native iPad version that will allow landscape mode? The WAZA Air is great, but this lack of landscape mode is beyond irritating.

I’d have to recommend staying away from these Waza air headphones. These headphones could be amazing if the app to control them wasn’t utter garbage. The sounds are pretty good but the app is a hot mess. Why can’t we just turn effects on and off with a single button? Why can’t the app keep the screen on while I’m fiddling with this mess? So many other things in this app that are not thought out at all.

Wait for version 2??
I bought these headphones during the lockdowns in early 2020. I got frustrated with the software being too complicated and not compatible with ipad as it refuses to go into landscape mode, so gradually just stopped using them. I put it down to the concept being new and thought I’d wait for the inevitable software updates to finally de-bug an otherwise good product.
Cut to 2024 and I get a new guitar. My memory went to those headphones I paid a fortune for with the terrible software. I bought those way back during Covid. Surely a product made by a huge company like Boss would be reacting to feedback and constantly improving the customer experience? They must have a fully upgraded interface by now? Right?
Well actually no! It appears that in the four years these have sat in the draw I’ve missed nothing.
THEY HAVE MADE ZERO SOFTWARE UPDATES/UPGRADES IN FOUR YEARS!!!!
CRIMINALLY BAD!!!!

Atrocious
Firstly the hardware is great. Can’t fault the headphones and the into guitar wireless adapter. The 1* is for the app itself.
The reviews from 3 years ago are still relevant. 3 years to change the app and as far as I can see nothing has changed.
I used 2 other amps which have apps: the spark MINI and a Fender mustang GTX50. The apps for those amps are very intuitive and visually easy to follow, with good representations of amps, pedals etc. Pretty much the opposite of the boss WAZA app.
Sort it out Boss.

App needs major work
As others have stated the app needs a lot of work. I have a lot of gripes with it, but the major one is that there seems to be no east way to turn effects on and off. You have to use your thumb to press, hold, then move the dial up to the desired level. No just tapping with a preset level. Insanely annoying!!!

WAZA Air Headphones.
Boss need to offer an update. Plenty of scope for improvements to truly make these headphones reach their full potential.
It’s such a shame the under interface is so clunky. It’s still not clear to me how to build your own set lists and select the right fx.
I have tried the BT foot switch. But really, these are midi driven. And, the app is just RUBBISH.
Use the tuner regularly.
If you buy them, enjoy them. Don’t let the app frustrate you. They are still well built and offer a unique player experience.

Complete game changer!
I’m blown away by how these headphones & app have impacted my practice regimen. I love playing guitar. I love my 3 amps. I love playing along with music…unfortunately, my family does not share the same love!! I get it, it can get annoying listening to the same song over & over & over, while I try to get certain parts down or noodle around with my own ideas. It had gotten to the point where I barely practiced anymore because I didn’t want to be annoying. Those days are over! I can’t seem to put the guitar down now! I love the options & effects that this app brings. It’s given me the ability to experiment with effects that I never thought would appeal to me & I’m thankful for it. It’s opened up my imagination & allowed me to be more creative with the music that I create. So far, I haven’t had any Bluetooth connectivity issues, as some other reviewers have mentioned (using iPhone 13 ver. 16.2). I can switch from the app to Spotify without issues. Be sure the Bluetooth is connected to “Waza MIDI” for the app control & your music is connected to “Waza Audio” in your Bluetooth settings. Push the Bluetooth button in on the right headphone until you hear a beep to connect to “Waza Audio”. Yes, it can be connected to both! Is the app perfect? No, but c’mon…it’s pretty close. First, I completely understand the complaints & demand for landscape mode. Second, I do occasionally lose signal from the transmitter out of nowhere. I just unplug/plug it back in & it resumes connectivity. Third, the interface can use an update & some customizable features. Lastly, I think it would be helpful to add a metronome & if possible, a basic looper (not sure if that’s a software or hardware addition). Those are the only reasons I dropped a star. All in all…an awesome tool that’s making me a better player & I’m having fun with it! Thanks Roland!!

Needs more tones and effects I hope boss didn’t give up suppling the WAZA air with effects for what people has paid for the headphones this app should have a lot more
Headphones are amazing. App is crap
First of all, love my WAZA air headset, total game changer in my guitar practice, and it works alright for bass too. However, the app is crap. It doesn’t work right most of the time. I can go through the same sequence and get communication error most of the time, though sometimes it does work, hence the 2 stars.
