What's New in Bucket Money
1.0.3
August 14, 2026
The first update since launch, with a lot of exciting new features. App Lock Require Face ID, fingerprint, or your device passcode to open Bucket Money. Turn it on under Settings, Security. The option stays off until your device has a passcode or biometrics set up. Wish List Keep track of what you're saving up for. Add an item with a price, an optional recipient, and a photo, then link it to a savings goal and watch it get funded. Set a priority order so you always know what's next. Buckets That Feed a Savings Goal Link any bucket to a savings goal and the goal keeps itself up to date. Every deposit into the bucket counts toward the goal and anything you spend from it counts back off, so the goal's progress always matches what is actually in the bucket. Set it when you create or edit a bucket. Linking only affects money moved from that point on, so it can't inflate a goal you funded another way. Savings Goal History Tap any savings goal to open it and see everything that has gone in or out. Each entry shows the amount, the date, and which account the money moved into - and for automatic contributions, the bucket it came from. Transfers Between Accounts Open any account and tap Transfer to move money to another one. Both balances stay on screen, along with what each account would be left with as you type, so you can decide how much to move without going to look it up. Quick 25%, 50% and All buttons fill in a share of what the account holds. Tier Breaks (Premium) A new way to split a deposit. Drop a Tier Break between your buckets and everything above it takes from the full deposit, while everything below treats what's left as its new 100%. Set tax aside off the top, then divide the rest. Borrowing The Lending section now works in both directions. Log money you owe with a lender name, amount, and an optional due date. Borrowing gets its own "Total borrowed / I still owe" summary, kept separate from money you've lent. Repayments can be linked to an account, so the balance is deducted and an expense recorded for you. Notifications Reminders and alerts now show up as real notifications on your device instead of only inside the app. You'll be asked for permission the first time. Tips Not sure what a screen is for? Tap the lightbulb in the bottom corner of any major section for a short explanation of what it does and a handful of tips for getting around it. You can switch tips off in Settings once you know your way. Accounts • Give any account its own icon - pick from a set of finance icons when adding or editing • Drag accounts into whatever order you want on the Home screen • Savings accounts now have an interest rate (APY) field • The edit button is a visible pencil icon instead of a hidden long press Buckets and Goals • Bucket caps have a new All-time option - a lifetime cap that never resets at the start of a period • Savings goals now support withdrawals, not just contributions • Recurring income can skip bucket allocation entirely and go straight to the account • Tap × to clear a savings goal's target date Work and Business • Typing a client name on a new work order suggests clients you've used before • Province and Postal Code fields added to work orders and your business profile Fixed • Income totals no longer double-count bucket splits. When a bucket deposits into its linked account, that movement was also being added to your income - inflating the total on Home, Transactions, the calendar and the tax export. Existing records are corrected automatically when you update. Everything Else • Subscriptions: choose the charge account when you first create one • Expense is the default type when adding a transaction • Payment due dates now support the 29th, 30th, and 31st • Gift icon added to the budget category picker • Settings now states plainly that your data is stored on your device and is never sent to a server • Undo notifications dismiss after 7 seconds instead of 10
