What's New in Bucket Money

1.0.4

September 5, 2026

The first update since 1.0.3, and it fills the biggest gap left at launch. Backup and Restore Your data can finally survive the phone. On iPhone, turn on automatic backups under Settings and a copy is kept in your own iCloud Drive. On Android the system backup carries your data to your Google account with nothing to switch on. Reinstall the app or move to a new phone and everything is still there. Reinstalling on iPhone now offers to bring it all back in a single tap, before you go through setup again. There is also a Back up now button in Settings, for when you are about to reinstall or move to a new phone and do not want to wait for the schedule. The copy lives in your own Apple or Google account. It is never sent to us and we cannot read it. The Terms and Privacy Policy have been updated to describe this accurately, so you will be asked to accept them once. How It Works A short walkthrough of the whole idea: income lands in an account, you split it into buckets, and every purchase pulls from a bucket. If that flow was ever unclear, this lays it out in a few screens. It appears once after updating and stays in Settings for whenever you want it. Choosing an Account Anywhere the app asks which account to use, you now get the same picker showing every account with its icon and current balance, instead of a plain list of names. Much easier to pick the right one when you keep several. Time Tracker Record clock in and clock out times on an entry, not just the total hours. Wish List Add a note to any item. Receipts Replace the photo on a receipt you have already saved. A blurred or wrong shot used to mean deleting the receipt and entering everything again. Fixed • Credit card reminders were wrong for any card due on the 29th, 30th, or 31st. In a shorter month the date overflowed, so a card due the 31st showed March 3rd in February and reminded you on the wrong day. • Alerts raised before you allowed notifications were treated as delivered and never shown. They are now held and retried once you allow them. • Invoices printed only the city, leaving province and postal code off both your business address and your client's, even though both have been collected since an earlier update. • Saving an invoice PDF on desktop now works, and a failure explains itself instead of appearing to do nothing. • Wish list items were left out of backups and exports, so restoring brought back everything except the list of things you were saving for. • Receipt and wish list photos disappeared after restoring an iPhone from an Apple backup. They were stored by full path, and iOS rebuilds that path when it recreates the app, so the photos looked missing while sitting untouched on disk. They are now found by name, which also recovers ones already lost.

Decent

Overall it is a decent app but it doesn’t refresh well and gets stuck at previous transactions. This needs fixing but it is good
