The face step told you to turn the wrong way. Turning as the arrow asked moved you further from what the screen wanted, so the capture never completed. It now asks for the direction you actually have to turn. And when the face steps finished, the review screen was shown an old copy of what we had received, so your photographs looked missing and the session could not be sent. It now reads what is really there. When the camera could not read your document, the button that lets you take the photograph yourself sent whatever was in front of it. The review then came back refused, as though something were wrong with you rather than with the picture. It now tells you what it can see wrong - the light, the focus, how close the card is - and asks before sending. Trying again is the answer it offers first.
