Bulgarian Verb Blitz

Learn and practise Bulgarian verbs with this interactive verb reference and drill tool. With 120 essential verbs across a wide range of tenses, Bulgarian Verb Blitz is a clear and effective way to get to grips with one of the trickiest and most rewarding parts of the language, and to build your everyday vocabulary as you go. Bulgarian verbs come with a few features that are new to many learners, and the app is built around them. Verbs are listed with their imperfective and perfective partners, so you can see how the two aspects work together. You can filter the dictionary by the three conjugation groups, and example sentences show each verb in context. As well as a verb reference, there is a set of intensive verb drill activities to quiz your conjugation knowledge, including: Infinitive quiz: do you know the meaning of each verb? Conjugation quiz: can you select the correct verb form for the English translation? Snap quiz: can you spot when the Bulgarian and English sentences match? Try to get ten in a row! Gapfill: can you spell out the missing word in the conjugated sentence? In the settings, you can choose which tenses to drill in the games. Start with the present, aorist and future, then work up to the imperfect, conditional, perfect and pluperfect. When you're ready for a challenge, switch on the renarrated mood, which is used to report what someone else said or what you only know second-hand. So whether you're a beginner or already well on the way to mastery, there's a level for you! The app will track your scores throughout the games, so you can check the Performance section at any time to see the entries you're finding trickiest. The verbs selected are among the most commonly used Bulgarian words, so the app is also a great way to increase and practise your everyday vocabulary.
