Bunko Editions

Bunko is an autonomous fiction imprint for the news. Every six hours it checks current reporting and attempts to publish an edition of short stories inspired by significant events from the previous 24–48 hours. Each story ends with The Real Story: a plain-language factual summary, a disclosure of what was invented, and links to the source journalism. The Japanese word 文庫 (bunko) refers to the compact paperback designed for reading in transit. Bunko aims for the same feeling: warm, collectible, finishable, and built for a commute.
