Decline of Newspaper
This paper no longer covers local events in detail as in the past, mostly because it is no longer in Burlington. No editorials anymore. The left bias is increasing each year.
Shrinking but grateful
I appreciate the local coverage. The paper is so much less than it was but I am so grateful that we still have it.
Still a bit clunky, but improved
Latest format is better than the previous one.
They made the App even worse
The old BFP app we've used for years seems to have been replaced by the new do-it-all app for the e-paper and the BFP website. They seem to have tried to combine it and it stinks.
No more easy moving and zooming using what was the e-edition only app this paper originally had.
Our old app stopped working on 9/16/23 and we realized the reason is they've moved to this new app.
It's so hard to navigate now and jerky in execution as well, ...we'll probably cancel our subscription when it comes up for renewal.
The old saying of -don't try to fix it if it is working ok- fell on deaf ears for whoever made the decision to implement this new app.

Keeps locking up
As I read my enewspaper, the thing keeps locking up about every other day. So I shut my iPad off and start over. Sometimes I delete the app and start over. Never had an issue before this new app showed up. Very dissatisfied.
Unable to read puzzle section
Tried to use print edition app and it does not focus well enough to read parts of puzzle and other pages. Unable to contact BFP on app to get help or support or information.
Worst app ever
Impossible to navigate overseas. Endless loops, error messages, this app is in desperate need of upgrading. When I get back to the states I will look for other options to this app. I hate it
I enjoy reading the Free Press.
I want to thank the Editors, writers, photographers, and all, for a great job. I enjoy the FREEPS, on the I-Phone. I even enjoy the videos.

This app is a pain
The prior app was great. I read this on my IPad - this new app is impossible to just enlarge a photo or an article without enlarging the whole page. And every time I get to a certain section it freezes and I have to close the app and start over. Bring back the old app!

Newspaper
Why have I recently been unable to see the newspaper on the app? All other functions of the app are available. This problem has been occurring for about 10 days.
Continued issues with this app on an iPad
Fortunately, this app was changed to be able to use it easier on an iPad. The app is still a major pain in other ways. When I try to read USA Today, I now have a gray stripe across the top quarter of the whole paper so it is impossible to read. You still spend half the time when trying to read the paper closing all the ads in order to read it. I pay for the paper so I shouldn’t have to close out an ad on every different section in order to read the paper. Definitely takes twice as long to read the paper than it did just a few weeks ago before this app. I personally am feeling forced to access the news from the internet as the BFP has been reduced to an app that’s primary purpose is to advertise to you. I really miss reading my paper.
6/11/24 update. This continues to be the worst app EVER! I constantly shuts down and reloads my paper. Constantly forces me to wait to read the next section so it can advertise to me. Wow and it I want to go back to reread something, I get the joy of it advertising to me again and blocking me from rereading something. This is the only local paper available to be. I have subscribed to well over 30 years and I can’t express loudly enough how much I hate this app

Unable to communicate

Very Glitchy, difficult to use. Just not a well designed app.
App doesn’t work
App doesn’t let me access e-paper. I’ve been a subscriber for many years, and it’s very frustrating!
Definitely has problems
At least once a week the app freezes entirely and I can't view te e-paper; and at least once a day the app freezes while viewing the paper and I have keep resetting the view by clicking.
Can't believe it, the app has gotten worse!
I use an ipad to try to read the free press. The pinch and zoom bugs (which were fixed) are back! My app continues to freeze, and if you try to read using pinch or zoom you'll jump to somewhere else. The app had been horrible for trying to get thru usa today, today it was horrible on both the free press and usa today. This app is garbage, please give us something that let's us read the Burlington Free Press.
