About
Bussola is a MongoDB client for iPhone, built for when you need to check or fix data away from your desk.
It connects directly to your deployment (MongoDB Atlas, replica sets, self-hosted instances) using MongoDB's native protocol over TLS: no backend, no proxy, no Bussola account. Your queries travel from your phone to your database and nowhere else.
CONNECTIONS
• Paste a mongodb:// or mongodb+srv:// connection string
• PROD, STAGING and DEV environment labels, favorites and recents
• Read-only mode, on by default for production
• "Test connection" showing DNS resolution, hosts and server version
• Connection strings stay in this device's Keychain
DOCUMENTS
• Shell-syntax filters: { status: "paid", total: { $gt: 100 } }
• Sort, projection, skip, limit, counts and pagination
• Card view color-coded by BSON type, or raw JSON
• Copy, clone, delete, export through the share sheet
EDITING
• Editor with explicit BSON types: String, Int32, Int64, Double, Decimal128, Date, ObjectId, Boolean, Null, Object, Array
• Saves only the fields you changed and detects conflicts if someone else modified the document meanwhile
• Edit as shell-syntax JSON without losing types
AGGREGATION
• Stage-by-stage pipeline builder with output preview and document count per stage
• Templates for common operators; disable and reorder stages
• Text mode to paste a whole pipeline
BUILT FOR THE PHONE
• Automatic reconnection when switching between Wi-Fi and cellular
• Timeouts and cancellation for slow operations
• Dark theme
Tip: for production databases use a read-only MongoDB user and restrict access with your provider's IP Access List.
