Unable to pay by Applepay
It would be a vast improvement if Applepay was accepted when ordering using the QR code

I don’t normally bother with reviews, but this app is particularly bad!
Here we go!
Constantly asks me to “favourite” a selected pub. Not needed.
Even though I’m logged in, I have to manually complete my contact details, including my own membership number!!
To compound this, autofill doesn’t work - certainly on a iPhone anyway
These are main inconveniences, but in general navigating the app is cumbersome.

App is not good
Two pus are great but the app is annoying and glitchy.
QR coded Payment system
Payment of restaurant bill by QR code on latest iPhone is hopeless. Apple Pay offered by app but refused with pop up message too brief to read. Butcombe app would neither accept autofill from cards loaded in Apple Pay nor scan my card. After several frustrating attempts finally I typed in my card details. What a waste of time.

Poor design and navigation
I have downloaded the App but only shows list of pubs and doesn’t offer a menu with ability to get to Loyalty Membership. Very frustrating.
Tried deleting and reinstalling but still doesn’t work.
Is there a help desk to get this fixed?

Looks good but poor functionality.
Seems like very little thought has been put into this app from a user point of view. Why can’t the app auto-populate my name and contact info? Seems a basic expectation. Making more than one booking at a venue means you have to come out, re find the venue and then start over. Needs the developer to try using the app maybe?

App repeatedly defaults screen brightness to 100%. Very annoying as you have to go into settings to reset it.

I removed my name from the app but they somehow still get your name on the till when u pay…if you want staff calling you by your name ..dont download the app!! Hahah
Favourite Venues
Why do you insist on displaying pop ups asking me to add a pub as a favourite venue every single time? Very annoying. Not impressed with having to give so much personal data away.
Underwhelming
App is easy to use to find venues but has major drawbacks for those making a booking. I regularly book the same venue and am registered with the loyalty program. However the app never remembers my details and I have to enter them every time. This is unnecessarily tiresome and is easily rectified with a little extra coding, and compliance with GDPR which must already be assured for the loyalty program. Please update the app software. It is also not possible to change a booking, or cancel online. A few times I have wanted to add a person to a booking, but have been unable to through the app. And the venue never answers phone calls or responds to voicemails or emails. One time I had to book elsewhere (not Butcombe) to accommodate a single extra guest. Please do better.

App puts me off using these pubs
I downloaded the app so that I could get the discounts. Problem is it never works so I end up leaving the pub annoyed that I won’t get my discount and go somewhere else for dinner.
How serious are the owners?
Some weeks in and still the newly purchased Kings Head in Hursley is not visible as a venue

App menu cannot be seen unless in dark mode
The app works ok, crashes occasionally and not the best to navigate, but it does the job. However, by far the worst thing is the app menu is their gold(ish) colour writing on white and impossible to read. You have to switch to dark mode to see the app menu. Who tests this app? Note, I am NOT talking about food menus but the menu with Sign in/Sign up etc.

App doesn’t allow loyalty card registration
Unfortunately, when trying to register the card for the first time, after entering the details, the app just exists, shuts down, and then you return to square one. Cannot use the programme until the card is registered.
Difficult to add payment method
Doesn’t work with Apple Pay. Doesn’t allow you to use card details stored in Keychain. So if you don’t have your physical card with you, tough luck. Poor from usability perspective, why is it so hard for app developers to get the basics right?

Knock £3-4 main course and prices will be more reasonable.
