By Heart: Scripture

The Word of God is living and powerful—a treasure to carry in your heart. By Heart helps you learn the words of Scripture and remember where they are found. Build your own library, grow through thoughtful review, and enjoy challenges that make every answer an opportunity to learn. MEMORIZE THE WORDS Choose recommended categories such as Salvation, Holy Spirit, Faith, Love, and Healing, or select your own verses, chapters, and books. Keep them in collections you can use throughout the app. Learn with three clear modes: • Read: see the passage as you enter the first letter of each word. • Gaps: recall words that are hidden while the rest guide you. • Hidden: recall the passage without seeing it, using full-word typing, first letters, or speech. Speak a passage and see how your words compare, or use Listen and repeat for guided audio practice. Speech features use supported on-device Apple recognition. Keyboard learning is always available. GROW IN LASTING RECALL Create a learning plan for a passage, chapter, or book. Review brings back scriptures over time and helps you revisit difficult areas. Progress moves through Learning, Taking root, Established, and By heart based on your learning and recall history. A guided repetition is valuable learning; lasting recall is built over time. LEARN THE REFERENCES Explore 250 curated scripture questions, or study the exact verses in your own collections. Choose Multiple choice, Book / Chapter / Verse, Type the reference, or Endless. Easy, Medium, and Hard change the challenge while keeping your chosen scriptures available. Try timed questions, build answer streaks, revisit missed references, and celebrate a cleared Endless collection. Open a passage in its surrounding chapter inside the app, and share scriptures or your results. KEEP GROWING Earn badges across both activities. Track your progress, add a scripture widget, and choose optional Daily, Twice a week, or Weekly reminders. Reminders are off by default. MADE FOR IPHONE AND IPAD Enjoy native iPad layouts, portrait and landscape support on iPad, and Light or Dark appearance. Included Scripture and keyboard learning work offline. Optional iCloud backups help protect your library and progress; export and import through Files are also available. No account, advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Your progress stays on your device, with optional backups in your own iCloud account. Memorization and custom reference collections use released TOT Scripture from Psalms, Proverbs, and the New Testament. Curated reference questions also use Modernized KJV where TOT is not supplied. Translation information and acknowledgments are in About. TOT text is copyright Abiding Place Ministries and used with permission. Treasure the Word. Know it by heart.
