Good food, technical issues consistent

Almost everything I’ve ordered here has been quite tasty and absolutely convenient. They’re very much local for me. Ordering online is a hassle about 50% of the time.

The occasion for today’s review: I placed an order through their app. They’re running some campaign about skipping delivery apps and ordering directly through their own app. Awesome. Great idea. Got a discount for it.

It’s around the time I’m expecting my food and I get a notification that it’s been canceled because of technical issues. I click on the link to learn more and it opens a browser to DoorDash. So apparently their campaign is a ruse to evoke more brand loyalty, not an authentic attempt to skip predatory delivery apps. Okay. Whatever. That’s the capitalist hellscape we live in.

I call the store to find out more, get a refund, or get the food I ordered and already paid for. The person who picked up, certainly polite enough, had no solution for me. She said the sticker never printed (not her fault), and the DoorDash driver canceled the order to go about their business. I asked for a refund or a new driver and she told me to contact DoorDash. The third party company I didn’t realize I was ordering through when I placed my order on the btb app.

But I don’t have DoorDash and I didn’t order through their app. They don’t have a solution for me either.

So I’m down 30$ with no food and the store has no solution for me.

My recommendation? Try the Mac, meatball sub, and garlic bread. Delicious. Just never order online and go in person.
