A number is a number until you assign some sort of unit or representation to it.  A small collection of units and representation is provided in this app to illustrate the many ways that numbers are used everyday.  For example: - A number can be expressed in written form. The most common usage in the form is for writing checks.  - A number can be represented in binary. This form is most commonly used in computer science and is the basis of what you’re looking at right now, your phone/computer/iPad, etc.  - A number can be assigned a unit to give meaning behind that number, such as distance and time. A unit converter is used to understand the amount in terms of the unit as applied to your specific usage.  - and more ...
