CacheOut is a todo app that asks you for nothing.
No date. No category. No project. No account. You open it to a blank line, type the thing that is in your head, and get on with your day. When it is done you strike it through and it leaves the screen.
That is the whole app, and the leanness is the point.
CAPTURE IN UNDER THREE SECONDS
Open to a cursor that is already blinking. Type and press return. Capture never waits for the network, never waits for AI, and never asks you a question first — it is a local write, and it is instant even in a lift with no signal.
Not just typing. Dictate it, scribble it with your finger or a pencil, or point the camera at a note on paper. All of them become one line you can read at a glance, and the original is kept out of sight in case the transcription got a word wrong.
Capture from the Lock Screen, the Home Screen, Control Centre, Siri, or the share sheet of any other app.
COMPLETION THAT FEELS FINAL
Strike a line and it fades, then archives itself out of sight. No checkbox that stays on screen, greyed out, reminding you of something you already did.
Struck lines are not deleted, just out of the way. There is no list of everything you have ever finished, because a wall of done things is its own kind of nagging.
FIND IT BY ASKING
Type a word and any line comes back — finished or not, from today or from last March. Your scraps are in Spotlight too, so you can find one without opening the app. Struck the wrong thing? Pull down at the top of the list and anything from the last day is one tap from returning.
And if you ever want something truly gone — the password you typed into the wrong app — you can delete a single line, on purpose, with a confirmation. That is the only way anything leaves for good.
IT COMES BACK ON ITS OWN
This is the part other todo apps need a reminder for. Anything you capture and do not strike quietly resurfaces after a week, under a heading that says so — because the app already knows how long a line has been sitting there. You never set a date. You were never asked for one.
QUIET INTELLIGENCE, ON YOUR DEVICE
CacheOut reads your lines on-device to suggest what they are and pull out topics. It only ever suggests: nothing is filed, hidden, or changed without you. You can ignore it forever and the app works exactly the same.
It will also tell you things about your own pile when you are curious — how much you have written, what you keep coming back to, how long you usually take to finish something. Facts about you, computed on your phone.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY PROMISE
There is no server, because there is nothing for one to do. Your scraps live on your device and sync through your own private iCloud, which means even we cannot see them. No account to create. No analytics. No tracking. Nothing to sign up for.
CacheOut needs iCloud only to sync between your own devices. Without it, everything still works, locally.
BUY IT ONCE
One payment. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads, no upsell, and no free tier to be nudged out of. Nothing about this app is designed to bring you back more often than you need it — there is no revenue in your attention, so there is nothing to farm.
