What's New in Cadance Dance Syllabus Tempo

6.0

August 28, 2026

Cadance 6 introduces Teacher Notebook: a new place to keep your class notes connected to your music. • Create typed notes or handwritten pages, organize them in folders, and share them as Cadance notes (.cadnote files), PDFs, or images. • Link notes to tracks: choose Copy Track Link from any track’s Actions menu, then paste it into a typed note or place it on a handwritten page. Tap it later to play that track again. • Take your notes with you: track links travel with shared .cadnote files and find the best available match on another device. • Stay with the music: albums, playlists, and Syllabus collections now make it easier to return to the active track while playback continues. • Improved teaching layouts: keep a Teacher Notebook note or Syllabus document beside the live player. Focus Player, repeat gaps, scrubbing, and playback feedback have also been refined. • A more responsive library: smoother scrolling and more reliable handling of large Apple Music playlists, offline playlists, imports, and playback startup. • Refreshed Cadance controls across the player, library, Teacher Notebook, and Apple Watch. • Watch support for Perfect Practice Playlist, Focus Player and track markers. Plus reliability, stability, playback, and iPad layout improvements throughout the app.

Practice passes!

My best companion!

I just used Cadance to choreograph a Jazz routine and teach a group of absolute beginners with a section of Chemical Brother’s “Go”.

The Focus Player mode was so handy and easy to use and I couldn’t have accomplished the whole teaching and filming under 2 hours without it! The tempo control, the delay start, the repeat gap and the looping functions saves ton of time or walking back and forth. It gave me time to walk into my position and everyone breather to get ready and start. The looping was so needed and convenient for multiple takes with different angles.

Cadance is the best companion for choreography, practising dance routine, rehearsal, teaching and anything dance!

Response from developer

So happy to hear this - thanks so much!

Fantastic app!!

I am a full time dance teacher and I cannot live without this app in class. Great step up from BarreNotes and love the new functions.

Response from developer

I’m pleased that you are pleased!

Julia

Thank you for Cadance! So great to have this new version of Barre Notes! Please can there be a Search button and please can we choose which albums to set up in Favourites ahead of using the album. Otherwise, very happy thank you!

Response from developer

We will be moving towards the new UI standards set by Apple, primarily for the Search button, so yes yes yes! For now, the search field lives at the top of the center tab and it is currently better than we had in BarreNotes. But this needs to search the Apple Music catalog too in order to fully utilize that resource. To configure albums and playlists to appear in the favorites tab, open one and tap the heart outline in the header. After that it will drift up based on your usage. Long press on the actual favorites card for options that include removal of that card. It’s been difficult to keep the documentation and video tutorials up-to-date, so thanks for the feedback on topics I must cover!

Great for teaching dance class

This is so helpful! All my music is organized and easy to access. The ability to change tempo of each individual selection is great.

Response from developer

Does the concept of Set Lists interest you? I’d be happy to hear your thoughts via email.

This is a Must Have app for dance teachers

I use this app 5-6 hours a day, 6 days a week. It’s my music control centre for teaching classes, running rehearsals and for performances. It keeps my music organized, allows me to adjust playback speeds as needed and even has a metronome feature for when I just need a steady beat. I can’t imagine teaching without it on my devices.
