What's New in Cadence

4.0

August 10, 2026

Version 4.0 is the biggest content and accuracy update Cadence has shipped. MOCK EXAMS REBUILT ON THE FULL CONTENT OUTLINE The NPTE content outline is a grid, not a list: every body system is split across Examination, Foundations, and Interventions. Cadence used to fill category totals only, which meant a mock could hand you 40 musculoskeletal examination items and 8 musculoskeletal intervention items and still look blueprint-accurate while you rehearsed the wrong exam. Every 225-question mock is now assembled cell by cell across both axes, so the mix of examination, foundations, and intervention items inside each category matches the published allocation. Scaled scores now run the full 200-800 range and are weighted by the outline's real category weights. 225 NEW BOARD-STYLE QUESTIONS A full new set of exam-length items written specifically to the outline's targets, so back-to-back mocks stop repeating the same questions. INTERACTIVE LESSONS Two new lesson types you work through instead of read: - Build-It screens: assemble a structure or sequence by tapping the pieces into place. - Sketch screens: draw the answer yourself with your finger or Apple Pencil, then compare against the reference. Anatomy diagrams were redrawn throughout, with new brainstem cross-sections. YOUR PROGRESS NOW FOLLOWS YOU BETWEEN DEVICES Four separate bugs were keeping scores and progress from reaching a second device: - Sync was silently switched off entirely on Mac. Fixed. - Quiz attempts and flashcard states only uploaded at launch, so a session you finished and then backgrounded could be lost. They now upload as soon as your writes settle, with a flush when you leave the app. - Downloads were gated behind that same launch delay, so a few minutes of studying on your phone didn't show up when you went back to your Mac. Downloads now run every time you open the app. - Your study plan uploaded but never downloaded, so it only ever travelled one direction. It now syncs both ways. The Account screen also told you iCloud backup was off and asked you to sign in to an account you were already signed in to. It now reports your real account status and shows when your last sync landed. FLASHCARDS PACED TO YOUR EXAM DATE New cards are now scheduled against the date you're actually sitting, instead of a fixed 20 per day. Review load is a lagging function of the new-card rate, so the old fixed rate was quietly building the backlog that made the daily card task impossible to finish. New cards now taper and stop entirely inside the final two weeks, so the last stretch is review only. 74 NEW LESSONS AND 427 NEW QUESTIONS - 486 lessons to 560, with new coverage of upper-limb amputation and prosthetics, safety and protection, equipment and devices, professional responsibilities, transfer taxonomy, disinfection versus sterilization, evidence grading, and deeper musculoskeletal imaging. - 345 new bank questions and 82 new in-lesson mastery questions. - The thinnest mastery checks across every category were rebuilt. Lessons that used to end in a three-question check now have a real one. QUESTION AND SOURCING QUALITY - Removed answer-shape tells from 174 mastery questions, the giveaway patterns that let you pick a correct answer without knowing the material. - Corrected chapter and page numbers on citations across the neurology, research methods, and musculoskeletal imaging lessons. - Re-sourced content that was cited to a book which never made the claim, and removed content that couldn't be traced to a real page at all. FIXES - Wheelchair seat-depth measurement corrected. - Fixed a lesson link that pointed at the wrong condition. - Corrected a unit that was filed under the wrong category, and clarified terminology that was being used in two different senses. I'm a DPT student sitting the NPTE this October, and I build Cadence around what I actually need while studying. If something in here is wrong or missing, tell me and I'll fix it.

Best NPTE App

Even when using other resources for board prep, I found myself coming back to this app to brush up on content through the built-in lessons. This app has everything you need to be successful on the NPTE. I’ve tried it out for a couple weeks and it is comprehensive of boards content. Pair it with some Google image searches occasionally to get a visual idea of some things and you’re gonna get an 800. Consistency is key. Use this app daily for not even an hour for a few months in advance and you’ll pass with flying colors
