CaesuraLab: Band Practice Tool

The largest update since 3.0: a new practice tool, rebuilt Tuner and Metronome, and a rhythm engine that counts the same way everywhere. NEW - Note Explorer. Browse the staff instead of being quizzed on it. Treble, bass and grand staff, with every note named and played. - Board Mode. Put the Tuner, Metronome or Rhythm Generator on a projector, with one control filling the screen for the room. - Dictionary. Every term on its own page, with search and a symbol beside each entry. REBUILT - Metronome. The beat comes first: a beat ring, tempo marking as a control, and time signatures one tap away. - Tuner. A larger meter face, a steadier needle, and two columns so the note and the cents reading are both legible from a music stand. - Rhythm Explorer. Custom time signatures, a bigger palette, tie and tuplet controls, and a staff that scales with the measure. RHYTHM AND COUNTING - Counting is now correct in 6/8, 9/8, 12/8, 5/8 and 7/8, including sixteenths and dotted values. - Rests hold their beats, and the counting says so. - Counting styles apply identically everywhere: traditional or Eastman, sub-counts above, below, in parentheses, or off. - Notation is drawn by one renderer throughout, so a beam, a clef, an accidental or a rest looks the same in a lesson, a quiz and on the board. ACCESSIBILITY - Every control has a name, a visible focus ring, and a target large enough to hit on a phone. - Text and interface colors meet WCAG AA contrast on every screen. FIXES - Saxophone and clarinet fingerings grade the key you actually press. - Every note a quiz can ask is a note the grader can read. - A custom rhythm selection that cannot generate a measure now says so.
