You need this app - it’s simple & brilliant, specially for shift workers
New update: there is a bug in the latest update that ignores the system calendar "week starts on" setting.
I'm posting it here because the developer's only contact details are for twitter, but on twitter he says he's not checking twitter and I have to sign up to Mastodon. I'm not doing any more social media accounts so I hope the developer is still reading reviews.
Update: I still use this app all the time for all my regular calendar entries. It's one of those apps that sits there being quietly useful. 2019 update: this app is still one of my "absolutely must have" apps, used on every device. But PLEASE let us have iCloud sync! I'll gladly pay for a new version! But, a plea to the developer: PLEASE give us iCloud syncing! When I set up a new device, I still have to enter every template all over again. iCloud syncing would make this app ten times better. Please :-) But even without iCloud syncing this app is brilliant and worth getting. Original review: There are loads of apps our there to help to enter repeating ‘templates’ or events. If you are a shift worker, you will often do the same type of shift but starting at different times on different days. Calendar Paste is the *perfect* app for this. You create your template - say, “shift 13, 7 hours 29 length, starts at 08.41” and store it. Then when my shift plan for the month comes through, I just open Calendar Paste and paste in each shift template for the next few weeks. Calendar Paste immediately copies over the event title, start finish and length times, into your calendar. One click per event and you’re done. My shift plans change every week, but the shift lengths and shift types fit within a range of 50 different templates. Over a year I might do each of them several times, which is such a pain to keep entering on my phone. With Calendar Paste, I entered things once only. And now, it takes seconds to do a whole month of shift planning. I’ve genuinely tried every shift planning app out there - so many of them create their own separate calendars. We don’t want that, do we? We want to use the same calendar that we use for everything else. Calendar Paste does that. Well done to the devs. I really hope they can build in ‘sync to iCloud’ so we can save our data when we change phones or buy extra devices. They really deserve the really small amount it costs to buy the app. By the way - in my original review, I noted how good the support was. Well, once again I had a quick question and got a full reply within a few hours. For that alone, the devs deserve our support. ==================== My original review: This is a brilliant app. It's one of those apps you don't realise you need until you use it. We've all got those repeating calendar entries - the ones where we don't know the date, but we know they'll be happening at some point. The details are always the same, so every time we arrange them we end up typing the same old details into the calendar. Wouldn't it be great to have a template ready, something you can just tap and it will fill in your calendar? That's what this app does. If you have regular meetings at John's Cafe with Susan, and the meeting is always an hour long, you can make a template. Then when Susan calls you to say "let's meet next week!", you just go into the app, select "Meet Susan at John's" and paste your template directly into your calendar. A really great thing is, Calendar Paste also remembers the time of day you last had the same calendar entry. That means if you often meet Susan from 11am to 1:30pm, the next time you go into the app to paste in "Meet Susan at John's Cafe", 11am - 11:30pm will already be selected. I love how simple and useful this app is. It fulfils a real need, and it does it brilliantly. I am a shift worker and my shifts change every day, but the shifts are regular, and I know that if I'm on "shift number 24", it will always start and finish at the same time and be the same length. So now, my app is full of my different shift details, and as soon as I know what shifts I'll be doing, I paste them in. It now takes me 3-4 seconds to do what used to take me 3-4 minutes. And I don't make mistakes anymore, because I'm pasting in details that I've already written and checked. The app doesn't sync across devices (yet) - it would be great if it did, so I can fill my calendar in from anywhere. But even without it, I promise you, you'll love this app. If you regularly use your calendar, you'll love this app. And an extra plus point: I found a tiny bug. I reported it to the developer and he replied within *minutes* - and he then released a fixed version within hours! Developers like him deserve our support. What are you waiting for? Download it now :-) Tony

Great app for shift work
I’ve been using CP for 10 years every schedule and usual event.
Includes alarms, notes, address all the stuff.
No updates for a bit, but still works great.

Funktioniert perfekt auf unter iOS 15.x
Was noch gut wäre, dass man die Templates mit einer festen Uhrzeit einstellen kann (von bis …)
Wonderfully useful - two features needed
It’s surprising that this is not built into every calendar app. I only know of one that has it but that app keeps losing the templates.
I’ve given it four stars rather than 5 because two features are needed to make it excellent!
1. You need to be able to put emails of guests in an invite field
2. When entering in a location, it should search Google maps for the address
Thanks

Doesn’t support multi-day events or event time
I frequently have all day events that last for 3 to 5 days. There is no option for this - requires a manual edit to add the additional days once in the calendar.
Also no way to set the time. At best this app is a two step process.
I walked away from Week Cal which does have templates as part of the app. But they decided to remove features unless you pay $15 a year. Greedy.

Let users predetermine TIME in templates
I also agree that users should be able to set a predetermined TIME in each template.
Why assume everyone would prefer events to begin at midnight?
I always know what time I need to set for my events in advance, yet you make users decide this every single time we use your “shortcut”. I’m annoyed by this inconvenience EVERY time I use this app — it’s such a mind-boggling oversight. This is a really needless & counterproductive annoyance, please fix it
Please allow users to predetermine what time each of our irregular event will begin when we create a template.
(Why isn’t this obvious oversight already fixed / implemented?)

Does the job, albeit with some rough edges
I agree with others that it would be nice if template included time. Also, I am having issues where on my list of templates, the displayed name isn’t always the title of the template but sometimes the custom text. If I wanted it to display on the list as the custom text, why have them as separate fields?
I will say, this app does fill a hole that the big calendar makers seem to have overlooked and it does a decent job. Only big UI improvement I’d suggest would be to “check mark” the dates and create all at once rather than going back and forth 30 times.

Almost.
The only difficulty that I have is creating a new shift with a specific start time. If there is anyway to allow editing the start time of existing calendars this would be perfect. FYI I am not talking about editing for each entry, but editing the default time that the shift is to start without having to change the time from 0000.

Ok
Easy to use, but creating an all day event spread the cal entry over 2 days.
Great app for template games cal events
Great app but could be improved by adding sort feature (i.e. alphabetically)
Great, simple app
This app does exactly what it promises and has made entering my schedule into iCal a breeze. Well worth the price. Thanks!
Time saver. Very useful. Should be a paid app.

Doesn't do what I need
Not clever.
Can't add custom fields (though this may be a restriction of the Calendar App itself to be fair)
and if I add headings in the notes field to use as custom fields they are not shown when I instance the template.
Lovely idea but, as it stands, restricted to simply defining a length of event, alerts and the Calendar it is not really adding that much.

Sehr hilfreiches kleines Tool! 👍
Ergänzt den on Board Kalender um eine für mich sehr hilfreiche Funktion. Danke an den Entwickler! 👍
Good app that shows promise
Thank you for making the app universal!
My feedback:
1) sync calendar templates to multiple devices
2) restore calendar templates
3) have a display option to use current date picker UI or select date from calendar
Thanks!

Useful
Only app I could find that handles irregular recurring events. Uses a wheel to insert dates, would prefer tapping a calendar. But useful and, I think unique. Are there any other apps that handle irregularly occurring events?
Broke
Loved this app. Used it all the time. All of a sudden, doesn't work. Tapping on my templates does nothing and there is no support to ask why or report defect.
Doesn't work!
Just bought it, but the app doesn't work! What a waste of money!
Was great, now not working
As other reviewer wrote, I can only paste one event, and then it doesn't let me paste anymore. I have to completely close out of the app then open it back up to paste the next event. It is a great app when it works, but it is broken right now.
