Calibration Field Assistant

Calibration Field Assistant is a tool for the technician doing the work. Record a calibration against a reference standard, get a traceable pass or fail at every point, and issue a PDF certificate - without an account, a subscription, or a signal. EVERY NUMBER SHOWS ITS WORKING Only what you measured is stored: the applied value and the reading. Error, tolerance and verdict are recalculated every time they appear, so what is on screen can never drift away from the numbers it came from. Tap any point to see its tolerance broken into the terms it was summed from. The app never fills in a missing engineering input with a default. No tolerance means no verdict, and it names the field at fault instead of guessing. INSTRUMENTS IT UNDERSTANDS - Pressure gauges, thermometers, multimeters and RTD readouts - Transmitters with a separate output range: 0-250 psi in, 4-20 mA out, judged in milliamps on the output side where the reading is actually taken - Reverse-acting outputs ranged 20-4 mA - DP flow transmitters with square-root extraction, tested at percentages of flow with the applied differential pressure squared to match - Gauge, absolute and differential pressure, recorded and printed, never silently converted - Composite accuracy specifications: percent of span, percent of reading, a fixed term and display counts, summed and shown broken down CERTIFICATES A paginated PDF on US Letter or A4, numbered in your own sequence, carrying the instrument as it was on the day, your reference standards and their certificates, the as-found and as-left tables, and every assumption the result rests on. Share it, save it to Files, or regenerate it from the record later. Each job snapshots its instrument, so editing an instrument afterwards cannot rewrite a certificate you have already issued. SIGN-OFF Any number of people on one certificate - calibrated by, witnessed by, reviewed by, approved by - each with a name, a title and a time. It is a record, not a digital signature; the app says so plainly, and the certificate still prints a ruled line for a written one. UNCERTAINTY, LABELLED An optional budget built from the reference standard, the resolution you read to, and repeated readings. Combined by root-sum-square, with Welch-Satterthwaite effective degrees of freedom and a coverage factor you either state yourself or take from Student's t at 95 percent. Every assumption is printed beside the number, and a budget the app assembled for you is marked informational. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No account, no sync, no analytics, no network access at all. Export the whole record as CSV or JSON whenever you want. The CSV recalculates through the same engine the screen uses, so the file always agrees with the app. BUILT FOR A GLOVED HAND Large touch targets, a numeric keypad with a sign key and a next-point action, monospaced digits so a column of readings stays aligned, and pass or fail carried by word and symbol as well as by colour. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not certify compliance with any calibration standard, and it adds no accreditation statement on your behalf. Pass and fail follow only from the tolerance you enter. The certificate footer is free text that belongs to you. TRY IT WITHOUT A PLANT Load the sample data for nine worked instruments and eight calibrations, each showing one thing: a clean pass, a transmitter judged in milliamps, one found out of tolerance and trimmed, one that failed and was removed from service, a square-root flow transmitter, a reverse-acting one, and a job left half finished.
