Pretty much useless

The app crashes as soon as you blink, with no errors or no logs helping you figure out what’s wrong. Don’t waste your time with this garbage.

non-functional and zero instructions

I have an established calibre content server that is easily accessible via LAN or WAN using any browser.
but this app clearly is incapable of finding my server on port 8083. if the dev is limiting to 8080, thats just idiotic, why even bother provide a setting to input an custom address? don’t waste your time on this app. its completely useless

It works

It doesn’t hand hold you through the process, but ultimately it’s rather simple. There’s a setting in the “Sharing over the net” section of the preferences in the desktop version that starts a content server. You need the IP and port of that to connect to it from your phone app. If you’re having a problem, it may be that you haven’t started the content server. There’s documentation for calibre online that talks about how this general process works for apps like these.

Unusable

Ive set up my own server at home with Calibre available via WebUI so J am not unfamiliar with setting my server ip addr and port. This app is poorly done and unusable

Inútil

No hace nada, no deja agregar nada ni hacer nada. No pierdas el tiempo

Waste of time, does not work

Waste of time, does not work

Works well mostly…

I agree with the other comments I have seen wishing there were instructions. However, I was able to figure it out with a little trial and error. It works perfectly once you get things set up. He app updated with my Calibre library and allows an easy search.

Needs instructions

Unable to connect to a calibre content server. App does not include any guidance to get started.

does not work

seriously, it does not work.

App doesn’t work

Was hopeful this app would let me read books from my Calibre app on my windows laptop, but it crashes when trying to sync. Basically a useless app.

Useful free app, but setup is not intuitive

There aren't many Calibre iOS apps available, and none look that great on the app store. Although Calibre Connector is a 4 years old with only one 1-star review (at the time I downloaded it), I figured I'd give it a shot. I love apps without in-app purchases or ads, especially when they're cheap/free.

I was initially pretty disappointed. The app doesn't contain any information on how to use it. All you see is an empty library with no user guide.

Fortunately, I clicked the support link in the app store. This lands on the developers web page (phillipwwalker.net) and has the information to walk you through setting up the app for the first time. You sync your library in settings by using the IP address your Calibre library is on.

I haven't done much with the app yet, but I wanted others to know where they can find out how to use the app.

If the developer updates the app to have the user guide inside the app, I'd definitely improve my 3-star rating. Preferably, it could be a pdf or ebook in your default library. Without finding that information, I understand someone would give the app a 1-star rating.

Useless

Don’t bother for iPhone. Can’t connect to laptop in any way.

Nice app

The app is good but I am missing some essential features such as the ability to search a name in the calibre library.
