A MUST HAVE!

A must have for anybody in the practice of criminal law! Excellent resource and time calculators.

Fix for update crash

I talked to the developers. The crash is easily fixed by deleting the app and reinstalling. They are working on getting the crash fixed. It has something to do with the update process. Five stars for quick replies from the devs.

$20 a year is criminal

This app is nice. But not $20 a year nice. Lower the price or make it a one time fee. I think some of these 5 star reviews are shills.

Problems

The Custody Credit and Release Calendar does not work.

Had to pay twice

Why did I have to pay twice for this app when I already paid for it on my iPhone!!! You said I could use it on multiple devices, if so why did I have to pay twice!!! I want my money back!!!

Bugs need to be fixed ASAP

They need to fix the fact that it keeps telling me that my trial period has expired when I have paid $20.00 for the app!!! I log off and back on and the same!!! Because of this I can't use the app at all on my iPad!!!!! Fix this or give money back!!!!

Stop moaning its a great cheap app

As a criminal lawyer, I love this app and use it almost every day. If I need to quickly see sentence range, strike, immigration or registration consequences or just need to look at the definition, this is perfect and faster and easier than anything else. $20 a year is way cheap given 1) the other options, and 2) the limited market for the developer. How many of us that can use this are out there? I'm guessing they still have trouble making much off this. Even if you helped with the bug reports (which I did not) how can you complain when this still costs much less than even the pitifully indexed penal code. Btw, never crashes on me.

Very buggy app

Very useful app for criminal practitioners. However, the app is extremely buggy. I have had two problems with it. First, it seems incapable of smoothly transitioning from portrait to landscape mode -- something that's just fundamental to all iOS apps. Second, after paying the subscription fee on my iPad, my iPhone still asks me to pay another subscription fee! Not sure if this is their business plan, or just another bug. I wasn't happy about paying the $20 subscription fee in the first place, but it is well worth it for an app that works. Unfortunately, the app has only gotten worse after they introduced the subscription plan.

Great program

The subscription price is still a bargain! I've been doing criminal defense for 35 years and i dont know how i managed without it
Great work guys. Looking forward to ongoing developments

Seriously?!

I am so disappointed that the makers of this app have decided to charge a $20.00/year limited subscription. Robbery!!

Horrible

I agree. Charging $20.00 for something the users made possible is plain robbery. The law books worked fine for me and will continue to do so since they chose to charge this price. Hope no one subscribes!!

Helped you fine tune it, now it costs us?

I'm surprised to see this app skyrocket to $19.99 for a year's subscription. Truly a shame, since many of us fans helped to report bugs, edit info, etc. at least grandfather those of us who've already downloaded it have it in. I could see paying $5 a year-but $19.99 for a LIMITED (one year) subscription? What a disappointment.

The cat's meow!!!

This app answers maybe a full third of things that tend to pop up while you're in Court. Especially helpful when you're in Court, don't have time to rifle through the old Penal Code sitting there, and don't have time to call Menaster at Appellate.... Back when I was a young lawyer, we had to hike up 19 floors (as the elevator company had gone bankrupt before the building was completed, and the County hadn't yet completed the tender for a replacement....) all the way back to the office to consult with the one Penal Code in the Library, which was handwritten on a scroll of goatskin parchment by retired lawyers living in a monastery. In short--great app for the defense attorney in the trenches...

Excellent App

Must have app for criminal defense lawyers.

Must have

Fantastic application. Simple to use and really easy access to information.

Best CA Penal Code App by far

I'm not really your target audience - I'm an officer not a lawyer - but your app is by far the most useful CA Penal Code I've seen! The searches (either by keyword or section number) are spot on and results are easy to sort through. The graphical interface is excellent; not too much text, but loads of information. I love how you can tap for the crime elements or the full text, but usually I just need to the find the correct charging section and I find it fastest using your app! I've completely stopped using my "other" penal code app in favor of this one. Thanks for a great product!

Great for price and then some!

I just found this app and think highly of It. I am an avid fan of CrimeIQ so I expect a lot from an app of this sort. CF 2011 make me scroll through all of the penal codes to get down to the vehicle code sections, a table of contents tab would be helpful. There is not as much collateral information as CrimeIQ however CF 2011 provides a lot of collateral consequences in a very clear and concise format that is always located on the bottom half of the page; better than CrimeIQ. I would GLADY shell out some bucks for a little more in depth information, the ability to save favorite searches, copy and paste integration into a word processor program. One thing I know the authors is that if they read this they will be chomping at the bit at the fact that crime iq costs about 100 bucks and cf 2011 thus far is FREE. As a trial attorney any good tool is worth considering. This program will give the savvy defense lawyer the power to verify complex legal situations. A few tweaks and this reorganization and cf 1011will be a must buy! As this is a free and powerful program stop reading and start downloading!

Fantastic

This program is like a law reference book available 24 hrs per day.
I highly recommend this application.

Best legal app - bar none

I have my iPad loaded with legal apps. This is the most useful criminal law application I have seen. Be sure you try the "advanced search" feature - it's awesome for plea bargaining.

Thank You!

I have been a criminal defense attorney for over 32 years & I have used the old CDRom & newer desktop versions of CrimeTime for many years. Crime Finder for the iPad and iPhone are excellent compliments to CrimeTime. The interface and wealth of information are outstanding on the iPad app. In addition to providing sentencing ranges, Crime Finder provides one with the relevant law, collateral consequences, etc.

One suggestion if the limitations on apps permits, it would be great if enhancement & multiple count support could be added. I have already recommended Crime Finder to many of my colleagues and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work.
