About

You remember to open Instagram. You don't always remember to check your to-do list. Caliph connects the two. When you open an app you've chosen, Caliph brings up your own tasks. That familiar habit becomes a reminder of what you meant to get done. Your plans, back in view Write down the things you want to do. When Caliph appears, they're right there: the assignment to finish, the person to call, the book to get back to. The short pause gives you a moment to look. Choose a task and start a focus session, or choose Stay in Caliph. If you still want to use the app, wait for Open app and carry on. A place to make a start - Add notes and subtasks so you know where to start. - Put tasks in Lists and use Spaces to keep different parts of your day together. - Start a focus timer from a task and look back at your saved sessions. - Use the same account on iPhone, the web and the Caliph Chrome extension. Your tools can add to the list, too Caliph Pro includes REST API access. Use your own scripts and tools to create and update tasks and Lists with your Caliph API key. Setting up on iPhone The in-app guide walks you through an Apple Shortcuts automation for each app you want to pause. Phone apps and Chrome websites are set up separately. Choosing Open app gives you a temporary allowance to reopen that app. Once it ends, the next opening brings your task reminder back. Caliph doesn't cut off a session while you're using the app. The thinking behind it Caliph brings together ideas studied in behavioral research: goal reminders, a short delay and a chance to change your mind. Your own tasks give that moment a purpose, with a focus timer ready when you choose one. Caliph itself has not been tested in a controlled effectiveness study.
