Simple Yet Powerful

I’ve been using various iCloud/Google calendars to track my freelance work and had been adding them up manually, like a caveman, when it came to invoicing. CalStats lets me easily tally/quantify these—and with lots of options around filtering, makes a previously tedious task simple. No overwrought, do-everything, business-manager-website-subscription—just use the calendars you already use. Recommended.

Great Idea

The app does exactly what you say it will. Personally I don't always complete what's in my calendar and sometimes I miss things so for this reason the stats would be completely off. If there was a section to build tasks in and track those I would have said it's the best one of it's kind by far. As it does what you describe very well I've given you 5 stars

A good tool to have in the toolkit...

I find it surprising that there aren't more apps in this category. There are maybe three or four apps I've found that offer visualisations for time spent in different calendars. CalStats is one of two that's actually very useful, and does a very good job of offering attractive visualisations as widgets that can be placed on your home screen. With CalStats, you can use your calendar as a time log, entering simple text keywords as a way to focus on totals for specific entries.

It does what it needs to do, and does it well.

Finally! A time tracker without extra steps!

Love that it uses existing calendar events to track time. I can add filters, do csv export, etc.
Don’t have any complaints or feature suggestions, it’s that perfect.

Kind of what I’m looking for but not exactly

This app is what I’ve been looking for but it lacks the function to produce what I need. First, the stats can only calculate for past weeks or months, but I want to be able to set the time frame to future times, to plan the amount of hours for my tasks ahead. So far the only way is to set the dates manually, but then you’d have to change that visualizer for every future week.
Second, it can’t analyze by event category, only calculating for the whole calendar. For example, if I have meeting time and actual working time in my work calendar, it calculates total for everything in my work calendar, but can’t show me how many hours I spent on meeting alone. I wish to be able to search and calculate calendar hours by keywords, so I can put time on my calendar with the project’s name, and see how many hours I put/plan for this project on a certain week.

Response from developer

Hi Litchi, thanks for your review. You can definitely filter visualizers by keyword to separate meetings! When you're in a visualizer, you can press the Edit button at the top right to edit the visualizer. There is a section called 'Keywords'. In there you can enter a keyword (like 'meeting'), and then press return. Your visualizer will now only show events containing that keyword. Hope this helps!
