About

Calx is a calculator you can talk to. Say or type what you want to work out, the way you would say it to a person, and Calx answers with the number and the steps it took to get there. WHAT YOU CAN ASK 286 divided by 5, then take off 10 percent what is the tip on 458 18 kg in pounds 85 plus 15 percent 20 percent of 450 split 3 ways There is no syntax to learn and no hunting for the right button. If you can say it, you can ask it. YOU SEE THE WORKING, NOT JUST THE ANSWER When a question takes more than one step, Calx shows each step on its own line. 286 divided by 5 is 57.2 57.2 times 0.9 is 51.48 A single step gets the answer and a short sentence, because a line of working would only repeat it. IT TELLS YOU WHEN A NUMBER IS ROUNDED Most calculators quietly round and hope you do not notice. Calx marks it. An exact step says is. A rounded step says is about, and the working shows the rounding mark. You always know whether the figure in front of you is the real one. IT CANNOT MAKE A NUMBER UP A language model reads your sentence and turns it into a sum. It never produces the figure. The arithmetic is done by a maths engine, and the model has no way to hand back a number of its own. TIPS AND SPLITS, WORKED OUT PROPERLY Ask about a tip and you get a small table of the usual percentages. Tap the row you want and that figure moves to the top, ready for your next question. Tap it again to clear it. UNITS Kilograms to pounds, miles to kilometres, litres to gallons, Celsius to Fahrenheit and the rest. Ask in words and the answer comes back with its unit attached. SPEAK IT INSTEAD OF TYPING Tap the microphone and say the question. Useful when your hands are busy or the numbers are long. THERE IS ALSO A KEYPAD For the times when you just want to punch in numbers, the keypad is one tap away. Calx does not force you to talk to it. PRIVACY There is no account, no sign in, and no name or email collected anywhere. Almost every calculation happens on your own device and never leaves it. Only a question that Calx cannot work out on its own is sent away to be understood, and even then it comes back as a calculation your phone performs itself. Calx does not show ads, does not use an advertising identifier and does not sell or share your data. FREE AND PRO Everything in Calx works for free. There is a daily limit on the questions that need to be sent away to be understood, and Pro removes it. Nothing is hidden behind the paywall, only the volume changes. Made by Five6 North.
