Excellent
I’m a Service tech that likes to sort photos of equipment and name plates natively on iPhone by album from camera app. iOS should have this feature. This was a great find that’s been needed for years. Thanks cam albums!
Great Idea, Poor Performance
This is a great idea for an app. I’ve wanted something like this for a long time. The concept is great, but unfortunately the execution is lacking.
The camera is noticeably slower than the default iPhone camera, resulting in delays every time you click to take a picture. Whereas the regular iPhone camera can take multiple photos in a second and has a high refresh rate, this camera will pause for almost a second between every single picture. It’s infuriating.
It also lacks many features built into the default iPhone camera. There’s no settings for zoom, timer, and photo type for example. No filters. Just the very basic photos or videos, with a toggle for the flash and to switch between the front and back camera. It’s extremely bare bones.
The UI is also clunky and unprofessional looking. It could be much more streamlined. The Album chooser at the top is ugly and the photo album icon in the bottom right looks extremely childish. I would love a more professional, slick looking app.
This app probably deserves 2 stars, but I’m giving it three for just the concept alone. It does work, but it has a long way to go. Charging $4.99 for it at this stage is outrageous, and I feel like a fool for paying it. It should be free until the developer works the kinks out, or $0.99 at most.
I hope the developer continues to improve it and make it more responsive. It needs to be able to take pictures as fast as the iPhone camera. Without that responsiveness, nobody will ever truly be able to use this app. I really hope it improves and if it does, I’ll update my review to reflect that.
