Camaïeu is a quiet moving picture to breathe with for a few minutes. A slow composition of cells, gears or waves fills the screen, painted in one hue, and a ring breathes with it.
A SESSION, TWO CHOICES
Choose how you breathe: box, relaxing 4-7-8, coherent, or a timing of your own from the tuning editor. Or choose free — no pacing, the picture simply drifts.
Choose how long: 5, 10 or 20 minutes, or open. Then press play.
With a breathing pattern, the ring shows where you are: it swells as you inhale, holds with you, and shrinks as you exhale, with the seconds of each phase at its centre. Free with a duration shows a countdown alone: a timer with nothing else on screen, for scales, a chore, a short rest. There is no alarm: when the time is up, the picture keeps going and the controls come back.
TWELVE LOOKS
Behind the button beside the gear, a shelf of looks. Tap one and the whole picture comes with it. Camaïeu reopens on the last look you chose.
THE STUDIO: ONE PURCHASE, YOURS FOR GOOD
The last chip on the shelf opens the studio, where looks are made: three families of shapes, ten hues and two of your own, four moods, shuffle for a new composition, pinch and drag to frame it, and the ring you can resize and place where you like. Keep what you make on the shelf, share it as a short code, and carry it out of the app as a short looping video. A single purchase; no subscription.
QUIET BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no sound, no notifications. Nothing you make leaves your phone. The screen stays awake during a session, and your own brightness is given back when you leave.
Camaïeu is drawn live on the device: shapes are rendered in grey and coloured afterwards, which is what a camaïeu is: a painting in tonal variations of a single hue.
