Waste of time & now want to charge…
Now want users to pay a subscription for news they just lift off of social media pages without paying the person that originally posted it as well as majority of ‘articles’ just adverts they are getting paid for to push from online stores. Uninstalled.
Out of date Sports
Would expect this so to have the very latest news on sport in the region. Two football teams in League 1 and the newest article is 4 weeks old. Remaining sports news is similarly way out of date.
No longer possible to comment
Terrible app. When attempting to post a comment, I kept getting message “Whoops! Something has gone wrong. Try again.” I don’t bother any more.

Makes me feel back home
I left Cambridge in 1977 to start a new career in the Prison Service. This took me to various parts of England and I have now settled in the midlands. My love of course is Cambridge United and I can help follow them and other interests through this paper. It’s great to read all the local news and gossip, yes and at times I feel a little home sick.

I must be getting old because I remember when the Cambridge News was an interesting read....but now.......
Filled online with ridiculous articles along the the lines of...’Fifteen hilarious things overheard in Debenhams’ and articles.....I’ve just read one about an attempted robbery in Waterbeach written by an Ian Hughes where the same information was repeated time and again but just in a slightly different way, presumably just to bulk out the report. Reminds me ....of me...doing my school homework!!
The changes have probably been brought about by the parent company The Mirror Group. Whatever it is I feel I’ll be removing the app before long.
Sorry CN but there are lots of places I can go to read meaningless badly written news items......

Improved app - but some articles very shoddy
The app seems faster than the old one, which was very slow.
I get a lot of alerts, some of which are useful, but others are little more than headlines. It can be annoying to open the article to find little more detail, though often they add more later.
But my biggest concern is some of the journalism, which has lots of bad spelling and grammar. Today I finally thought I’d raise this, when reading about reefs on the war memorial - momentary confusion until I realised the picture was showing wreaths! Is there no literate editor?

Use to be a good app but since you’ve removed the ability to comment it’s been pretty pointless!

Good overall but could be improved
The initial layout is good and easy to navigate but I do agree with previous reviews which state that some of the page don’t load when you click on the headlines, all you see is the headline and and advert but no article. Also there could be a little more content.

Stale Very stale
Very stale news some is in there for months at a time. I’m sure it’s just a ploy to gain more money by us looking at the adverts than it is a news site. Most local news sites are fresh and up to date but not this one this is very slow so slow I fact it makes me cry and contemplate if it’s worth the 8 mile walk to the nearest shop to buy a news paper from last month as it will still have news that is more up to date . Sod this I’m going for a walk !

Totally rubbish, never up to date with crime, only concerned with anything about cyclists, do you really hide the real Cambridge to deceive the public about the very high crime rate?

Get very little actual news. Most items that appear are several days old. Click on a newsflash and you are greeted with a blank page. Poor !!
