Tried it with the iPhone 6 plus and a ipad 2. I figured it would work with one of them but no. Perfect in it's worthlessness.

simply does not work
Phone connects to camcorder Hf R50 via wifi in both, but the app just sits there and says it can't connect. Worthless...

Horrible app! Spent an hour trying to make it work. Simply doesn't! Poor instructions as well.
Useless - waste of time
The app maintains a connection from my iPhone 5 to my Canon Vixia HFR50 for about ten seconds, then drops the connection - even though they’re within a foot of each other. The app is a complete waste of time.
CameraAccess App
I have the HF-R40. When first trying to use this app I recommend going to the cd that came with the camera. There is a complete instruction Manuel on the disc. There is a section "recording movies using a smartphone". It also works with an iPad. The steps are given in order. It worked the first time I tried it. If the steps are not done in order it will not connect. Write down the SSID and password for reference before setting up he process. The second time I tried it my device remembered the info, but it may come in handy in the future. This app is nice because it is not line of sight like most remotes. I put my camera in auto on standard quality.

Doesn't work
Didn't work at all. Phone recognized camcorder's wifi and connected but app showed no camcorders. Tried refreshing several times with no luck. Uninstalled.
Works but CRASHES
It works as sold but the app constantly crashes seconds into opening it. Using Apple 4 and Canon Vixia HF R40.
It worked alright
I mean it takes some figuring out but it's simple when you get use to it. I won a Vixia HF42 so I just go to streaming and go to my IPhone's Wi-Fi setting and you should see you camera and you just go back to this app and add what Username and Password the camera gives you.

Not the best tool for wireless view
The app comes with no explanation for its configuration and expects its users to know which models it will work with. After connecting via settings on both device and camera the functions given are minimal and offer no fullscreen modes. The disclaimer is the only function in settings gear icon. Overall this app gives you what it promises but for close proximity use it has an awful delay. For its troubles you'd best just use the built in screen...

Doesn't work, zero documentation
Like the title says, this app doesn't work, it just sits on the main screen, and there is zero documentation for help etc.

It works well. It wont work though till u go to your phones wifi settings and select the camcorder first as your wifi source. So steps are 1) select smartphone streaming icon on camcorder. 2) go to phone and settings and select wifi then canon camcorder. 3) run app. Good luck. oh and app will be grayed out if your camcorder is not set up for "standard recording" under recording setup.
