Camino del río Ripoll

Welcome to the Ripoll River! From its source in the north of the region to where it joins the Besòs River, the river’s course takes you through a wide variety of landscapes, connects six municipalities, allows you to discover their heritage, and, via the Besòs River Park, leads all the way to the beach. A route to explore on foot or by bike and discover the history, nature, and culture of the Vallès Occidental region. The Ripoll River Trail is more than just a route: it is the living history of a region that has grown alongside it. From before the Industrial Revolution to the present day, it has always been a source of life, energy, and development. Today, the Ripoll is also a major collective landmark, a symbol of the river’s return to nature after decades of human intervention and urban transformation. The river landscape regains its prominence as a living, open, and harmonious space, where nature and the city once again engage in dialogue. The Trail thus becomes the thread that weaves the region together, a space where residents and visitors can move about, discover, learn, and enjoy an environment that unites heritage, landscape, and daily life. On foot or by bike, traveling the river path is a journey through time and landscape: connecting with mills, factories, and sites of industrial heritage that explain the past and give meaning to the present. But it is also a chance to discover vibrant, commercial, gastronomic, and active cities that look toward the future without forgetting their roots. The Ripoll River Trail is more than a route: it is a bridge between generations, between city and nature, between history and the future. An itinerary that invites you to discover Vallès with fresh eyes, to experience the region in a responsible, active, and connected way. An experience that combines culture, nature, and community, transforming the river into a symbol of sustainability, discovery, and local identity; an example of harmony between restored nature and the human landscape that surrounds it.
