About

CamKit turns two nearby devices into a local remote recording setup. Use one device as the camera, place it where you need the shot, and control it from another nearby device. The app is built for simple video capture: remote monitor mode, start and stop recording, switch lenses, adjust zoom, control exposure and focus, use torch, and darken the camera device display while it keeps recording. Connections stay local. CamKit uses nearby peer-to-peer and local networking so it can work on the same Wi-Fi and in supported direct nearby conditions without accounts, cloud relay, or internet streaming. Features: - One app for camera and monitor roles - Local remote preview and recording control - Lens and zoom controls for supported cameras - Exposure and focus controls - Torch and display blackout controls - Timelapse recording mode

What's New in CamKit

0.2.1

August 17, 2026

Timelapse recording is now far more storage-efficient by saving only the frames needed for the final video. Added optional auto-stop durations, more playback-speed choices, live elapsed and output timing, and a clearer storage estimate. Improved recording and remote-session stability.
