Hi there! Thanks for reaching out with your concern. Campsighter is designed specifically for outdoor environments where cell service may be limited or unavailable. Once you’ve opened the app and loaded your markers or map view, most features like compass tracking, saved markers, emergency info, and offline location tracking will continue to work without a cell signal, because we rely on your device’s GPS, which doesn’t require towers. However, keep in mind that while GPS functions without internet, the map terrain images themselves may not load properly without a data connection unless they were previously cached. We’re working on expanding offline map support to make Campsighter even more reliable in remote areas. We really appreciate your feedback as we’re here to support campers in exactly these kinds of places!
