Point your phone at the scene and read a live exposure - average the whole frame or tap to spot meter - then lock the reading and walk aperture, shutter and ISO around the triangle in full, half or third stops. The needle moves the moment the light does, and when the light is out of range, Candela says so instead of guessing. It is honest about what a phone can do. The camera gives an estimate, not a lab instrument, so there is a calibration dial: shoot one frame against a meter or a camera you trust, nudge Candela up to two stops in third-stop steps, and it remembers.
