Timer Stops and your place is lost in the canning process.
The timer stops while the phone is in use. This causes confusion and can ruin your canning because you no longer know how far you are in the pressure cooking process. Once the timer stops you can’t just start again from where you are. You have to start the whole process from the beginning. This could ruin your food preservation.
The app has the potential to be very helpful and useful but until the bugs are worked out it could cost you ruined food.

Almost the best!
I really wish this would find a way to stay open in the background with timers as I’m often using my phone to double check the recipes I’ve bookmarked from safe/reputable canning websites. Otherwise I think this is a great addition for the new and experienced canner! Thanks- from a fellow master food preserver!

There are a few things missing….
For one I will say that this is a very good app because it seems to be the ONLY app. There are a few things that I REALLY think would make it that much better. For one it does not specify how much head space these items needs. Also there is a VERY LIMITED selection and zero availability to add to the selection. There is also no search availability. There could be also be a tutorial on what a weighted gauge looks like when it is at its optimal pressure. This app has SOOOO much potential but there is also so much missing from this app.

Got this app last year when I started canning and I use it every time! It was recommended on the Canning for beginners, Safely by the book FB group.

I’ve canned for many years, but usually just in the summers. I seldom remember from one summer to the next if it’s 10 or 15 pounds of pressure, etc for which items. This app just walks me right through the process. Possibly one of the best designed apps I’ve ever used!! Thanks.
