Future favourite?

Cool concept, but so far I feel that the scope of the curation is too narrow. Maybe it’s intentional, but going through each album on the list it all feels too close together, like part of the same radio broadcast. And as a fan of heavier music styles, I struggled to find anything with any real musical intensity.

Wonderful Music Discovery Tool

I love using Cantilever as a tool for music discovery. Most of the albums are new for me and very much outside my usual preferences. The selections are generally wonderful and very interesting. I add almost every album to my Apple Music library. The articles are also very good and enhance the listening experience. I like to read the articles as I listen to the music with my daughter. We read the articles together and talk about the music, which is wonderful. I would only change two things. First, it would be great if I could change the text size of the articles so the text is bigger and easier to read. Second, I don’t see any way to select how I want to output the music. Sometimes I am listening to the music on my headphones and my daughter es t to listen too. But I cannot easily switch to a Bluetooth speaker or my Sonos system. Aside from those two small problems the app and the music service are perfect. I’m very pleased.

Hi there, thank you very much for your very thoughtful response. We will look into both text sizing and options on audio output. Any further issues, queries or suggestions please get in touch at support@cantilever-music.com

Great way to ditch the AI slop and corporate greed. Music lives!

Streaming giants allowing AI slop onto their platforms was the last straw for me. Cantilever is a modern way to listen to music like we used to. To slow down and feel what’s gone into albums rather than the continuous noise and parade of dopamine hooks that come from corporate pushers.

It’s *almost* perfect

There’s a lot to love here, the articles are usually very interesting, the selections of music are amazing, from favorites of mine to new discoveries. However the flaws are pretty glaring and not so easily ignored, one of the biggest being playback. Recently the playback keeps getting interrupted after each song. When I began using Cantilever last month, it wasn’t a problem, but now the flow of albums keeps getting interrupted after each song, with me having to stop and press play on each song within an album. Once this little issue is addressed, I could see myself staying subscribed for a long time

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for the kind words — really glad the music and editorial are landing for you. We've just released a playback update that should fix the issue you described, so we'd love to know if it's working better for you now. And if anything else comes up, please let us know!

It works

It works, you just have to subscribe on the web. Can’t subscribe in the app because Apple takes a big cut.
